If your local power company had a contest where you could either win free heating or free air conditioning & you won the contest what would you choose.

My heating and ac are both covered under my rent so I just run them all the time like they are free anyways
That is the best deal of them all.
Free heating for sure. My heating is included in my rent here, but my electric bill with AEP used to run me $300 a month in the winter. One winter, I had a bill of over $900. I tried not to run the furnace so much that year, but then I just ended up in the hospital. I am so glad my heat is covered now because struggling to pay on energy bills can be bad for your health!
free AC... but that's the one I actually use
I’m voting the same because I only use my heating a few months out of the year & air conditioning the rest.
I think that answer is going to differ based off where people live… me, where I currently live, I’d say free heat… but if I lived in Las Vegas or Arizona , etc, etc I’d say free AC
That is true & it also depends on the time of year as well.

Heating.
Here are two or three weeks every year where I need an AC but 6 months where I need a heater.
Heating it is & as for me I’m the opposite where I use mostly AC & today I have my windows open. Stay warm.
I can deal with heat better than I can deal with the cold.
Therefore, I rather have free heating.
Free heating could help out a lot of people including homeless people as well. I guess it all depends on where you live. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
Free heat because I can just use a fan instead of AC, and that’s less expensive.
Heat it is & when it’s hot breakout the fans. Good choice.
I would lean towards free AC. Then I would crank the thermostat down! AC costs more to use than heating. Plus I have a coal/wood stove in the basement with access to cheap wood.
Smart move if if you have access to cheap wood for your stove even better.
Especially this time of year, is it snowing yet?
@Static_In_The_Attic Hi yeah, we had a dusting this morning. I went out to put the garbage out and saw snow in the one garbage can. Right now it's 26 degrees and wind shell makes it feel colder. We have been pretty lucky the last few years. If we get a big snow nothing surprises me.
Definitely heat. It is way more expensive than A/C.
True & depending on what kind of heat you have meters are spinning.
Depends where I live, probably free heat since I live in the northeast, the summer heat I can deal with by using my fan
Back in the day I lived in the northeast & it was like the ice & snow capital of the world so I understand heating. Is it snowing?
Not yet here, but it has snowed already in the northern part of New York
Never had AC, and heat bills can be pretty expensive so easy choice
Great choice & it all depends on where you live & in this case heating it is. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question & vote as well.
I don't see why I need a heater here when I'm leaving in the tropics. Free air-conditioning all the way!
Absolutely on the free air conditioning & the tropics must be nice except during a storm.
That heavily depends on where I lived.
Right now I’d say heating.
Heating today, air conditioning tomorrow.
I don’t need heat in my home. I live in Miami Florida. I’ll take air-conditioning all all day every day except when it hits 35° here it’s cold as heck
It can be very hot here, so we need the AC.
Same here & AC was my choice as well.
That's region specific
Exactly & it also depends on the time of the year as well.
Nope.
Free air conditioning 🥶
Sign me up, I’m with you.
FREE Heating 🔥
Especially if you live in colder area & free heating could help a lot of people out.
Free heating.
If it’s free it’s for me as they say & free heating is a great thing. Good choice & thank you for answering.
Idc either way
To each is own & thank you for taking the time to answer my question as well.
Free AC
Absolutely & I’m the same way & it all depends on where you live as well. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
Anytime. I can handle some cold but not the heat and humidity
