Why are doctors so condescending?

I never understood why doctors in medical dramas act so superior and condescending to the lower level doctors. Especially Grey’s anatomy, Like Attendings to interns and residents. They act so superior and condescending and don’t treat them like other human beings, they treat them like little scum and low lifes and are very impersonal with them Unless they’re friends, dating or really close, I don’t understand it, can someone explain?

These are TV shows and not formulated off reality but the time proven formula of a certain ratio of character types including antagonistic protagonists. It’s not real life.

Yes, if course, but people who treat their staff as condescending find themselves without a staff. RNs, PAs, LVNs, and others simply don’t have to tolerate a tyrant boss in this economy - especially nurses who are in demand all over the world.

You think that's bad? You should see how they treat the patients. But doctors aren't normal people. Normal people would never get through the training.
