Can a sweet woman ever get friendzoned?

I've heard too much about stories about men (sometimes even a woman's own childhood friend) making their moves and the woman isn't attracted to him. She has no romantic interest in him. He gets friendzoned and is crushed, hurt that she'll never reciprocate.

Does it happen the other way around, where it's the woman that fell in love with him but he feels no attraction towards her? She has a good personality and is sweet but he doesn't want a date with her. Can that ever happen too? A sweet woman getting friendzoned by the man she has likes/loves. Though she still gets hit on by other guys but not by her love interest.

Being friendzoned isn’t a gendered thing. Women can get “friendzoned”. It just doesn’t happen as often as it does for men, since men are usually the ones who try to deceive women by pretending to be their friend when really they just want sex or a relationship. And then complain about being friendzoned, lol.
