What do your pets do to get your attention?

My cat Allister consistently taps my face to wake me in the morning when he wants to be petted or have a treat or get his water changed or just get played with. He has been doing this since he was a very tiny kitten and he does it every single day. It's very amusing in a somewhat irritating way. I love him no matter what.

What, if anything, does your pet too to get your attention?

among other things, well... they do call me

they all have a few different meow calls for what they need or want (of different volume, length and repetitions, lol)

they do of course have a call for food, which is the same for water... they have a call for me to open the doors, when they want to go out to use their garden/bathroom, when they caught a mouse, when they want to play, when they have not seen me or anyone else in some hours "where's everyone?" and also a call to warn me "you've left food alone for more than two minutes so I am about to take it"

other than that, well... they got into my room and bed and either sit on my chest and purr, or get to the side of my face and do that... if I am awake they just come to me and want to cuddle against my legs, or they get as close to my face if I am by the table, the kitchen of my desk

whenever I am at my desk, they just jump and get in front of me... and I don't give them attention quick, they usually start to roll around and all over the keyboards, and mouse, anything... they just spread and stretch around for some petting, lol...

but more than anything... they do like to get close and we rub our foreheads together, the three of them love that, and so do I... that's our true greeting, lol

"Meow!" My sole pet is an older cat who was already here when I moved in in 2018. He was living outside but I started bringing him in to my enclosed and heated back porch at night, when it is cold, or when it is raining. When he wants to go outside, he says "Meow" and I let him go outside unless it is raining or late night (because there are hawks in the area who might prey on him in the darkness.)

My pup basically curse me out in doggynglish, and I understand, or she goes pouting somewhere! When exited I hope you got muscles because she’s an 80 lbs, 1 year old mastiff, she’ll jump on you, she’ll body slam and pull you too when outside, core and legs and harms muscles better be strong to handle her.


I need to get her better training, so she control her strength!

My pup used to cuddle up on my lap or my chest and just be there thinking and blinking his eyes looking at me sleeping, when I’d wake up he’d sigh of happiness.

I was happy to wake up every morning to see him.

Our cat cries or goes in front of us when we walk when he wants food. Sometimes he accidentally gets kicked because of that but it isn't our fault. If he's going to puke he'll howl a certain way and we'll either 1. Take him outside or 2. Put him out on the hardwood kitchen floor. When he wants to play, he'll sometimes swat at me or hug me.

My cat she’s 13-14 lbs Siamese. She jumps on my freaking face (when I’m asleep & when I’m awake) and walks all over me then sits down on me then leaves just to come back a few moments later or she meows constantly. And she rubs her face against my hands or phone which makes me drop it.

My black witch's cat Sabina were always invisible until I sat somewhere. Then she immediately materialized on my lap :D she never asked for attention, she just took it :D

And at night she slept on my chest.

When I was preparing meals, she was my main thief... I mean assistant :D

As long as it was something I touched she was stealing everything: corn, garlic, peas, meat, bread, fruits... :D

My English Bulldog taps me with her paw or just starts licking my face or lays down next to me and stares at me. If I don’t acknowledge her she starts doing playful little growls and barks.

My dog, Marilyn Monroe, does the bull dance when she poops, throwing her back legs out to let us know she pooped. She barks to get our attention and my cousin thinks WTF is she barking at, and it's me, Lol

If she's sort of hungry, both my rescue kittens will lick their lips. One of them though, if she's REALLY hungry she'll touch my lips with her paw and sit down.

Running in and out of the kitchen, meowing. Sitting on me, when I am laying on the sofa. Laying on or beside my laptop when I am at my desk. 🐈

My cat used to jump up on the kitchen counter. He knew he was not allowed there. I would kick him out. Then he figured that anytime he wanted to go outside he would jump up on the kitchen counter.

Our cat scratches the bedroom door if we forget to let her out for the night.

Rex our shepard he's my buddy. He'll come over and lean against me or put his head on my lap if I'm setting. It's heart warming😊

My cats stare right at me. They'll sit nearby and stare, and they'll do that for an hour or more until I get the message.

My Siamese has no problem getting her point across. She will mrrreeeoooooww, tap my arm, stare at me... yeah, she knows what buttons to push.

Harley ( German Shepherd ) will whine until I hold her ( even though she is 75lbs ) and relentlessly lick my face even though she knows I think it’s gross

My cat has figured out if meows in the master bath tub its louder. Vindictive bitch.
