The answer we're looking for is Nepal, the only country that doesn't have a rectangular flag; Nepal's flag is two triangles. As some pointed out, Nepal is also a legitimate answer because it's the only landlocked country in the list. And Australia is also a legitimate answer... it's the only one that doesn't have a land border with another country.

Interesting that people found some reason for each of the countries to be an answer.

maybe nepal is different among countries with huger area so not belong. i also feel china not belong... the way it is being operated now, not belong in existence, with unstoppable pollution and also the most co2 exhaust, so much more, that it is more than the next 4 highest countries combined.

@msc545 actually that is a good question. I worked with a guy who was from Guatemala. He was an American citizen but he stayed in America until he could earn enough money to go back and buy a business. He said that wages were really low and most people could not afford a lot of things. He had a Dodge Tradesman van and he was going to drive back there for a vacation. I wanted to go with him and suggested thet we buy a bunch of VCRs and sell them because he told me that there was no stores that sold stuff like that, This was before Amazon. He told me that nobody would be able to afford them.
Eventually he save enough money to move back and he bought a grocery store. A year later he was shot and killed in a robbery. His daughter called me and i asked if the cops caught the guy that killed him and she just laughed.
So maybe a hellhole country is one where nobody has any money and there is lots of street crime.

All but the United Kingdom are countries so the United Kingdom is the one that doesn't fit.
The United Kingdom is made up of 4 countries England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Not sure why Nepal has the most votes
