What specifically happens in your daydreams?

Tonight I was an evil empress who has the ability to release a small amount of hormones in human brains. I sat at the top of Inca pyramid and humans were sacrificed for my enjoyment, I gave people around pyramid a short moment of bliss while snipping with my fingers on right hand and releasing happiness hormones in their brain's reward center. After some time there was a queue of those who want to be sacrificed and my fingers started to hurt from snipping. When I snipped with my left hand the effect was opposite and those people started to attack each other...

They're kind of all over the place and difficult to pinpoint. The ones that pull most strongly without being so scattered are ones where I'm daydreaming of something I'd like to accomplish, like imagining a fictional world I want to create (I'm a game developer).

Or if have a goal like a fitness goal, I like to daydream and imagine I become the world's strongest powerlifter arm wrestling gorillas even though I know I won't get anywhere close and don't even have the goal to get that far. It actually inspires me more to go way beyond my goals in my imagination.

Some people seem to get inspired dreaming of something realistic but I have to kind of shoot beyond realistic to really get excited. Like if my real goal is to land on the moon, to get myself excited I'll daydream about interstellar travel.

I think the main reason I have to overshoot my daydreams way begin my real goals is that I'm rather lazy and procrastinate a lot and prone to seek the bare minimum work to accomplish a goal. So if I aim for the moon and get lazy, I won't even get to the moon. Yet if I daydream about interstellar travel and halfway sort of imagine it's my goal, even though it's not my real goal, I'll tend to at least get to the moon even though I'm being relatively lazy.
