There will never be a utopia on earth. Never. The Bolsheviks promised that lie with uprising of the Soviet Union. That lead to more aggregate oppression and misery and murder of millions of people the WW2 Holocaust.
Anyway not every American who is patriotic is some sort of sort knuckle dragging redneck like you have been brainwashed to believe. Many of us have served and/or spent extended amounts of time abroad in foreign countries. I know the time I spent in other parts of the world had both benefits and drawbacks. But it helped me understand and appreciate what we have in America.
I have little sympathy for people who have never traveled abroad (and I’m not talking about a week in Paris) who criticize our country. It’s not perfect nor ever will be. There is always room for improvement without have some sort of radical socialist uprising that will ultimately harm us all.
But compared to most of the rest of the world it really is the best. If it wasn’t you wouldn’t have have over 3+ million people illegally trying to get in here since Biden got elected. Your boyfriend understands this better than you do.
Not to say I can completely blame your POV. You just haven’t spent enough time in dangerous, impoverish and corrupt parts of the world. I have and I know what really goes on abroad. Although there are things I really like about other cultures (e. g. being family oriented) there are other major issues where your very life is considered cheap and expendable. But you will never understand that until you witnessed it.

I've spent time in a handful of other countries on 3 different continents, and the main reason can be summed up by a conversation I had with a Dutch female friend of mine in Den Haag. I had told her how the homeless in the U. S. have missing teeth, busted limbs, are constantly physically attacked while sleeping outside, or paid by people to beat the snot out of each other for booze money while it's recorded... sometimes pissed on and set on fire, or pushed into rivers while sleeping in their wheelchairs. The lucky ones are in homeless shelters after being wait listed, so they can enjoy being eaten by bedbugs, tracked up and down their arms. I know this for a personal fact. She didn't believe me. We didn't talk for a few mos. When she contacted me again she was stunned, saying she'd contacted other Americans and found out that the consensus is, yes, those things are not only prevalent... but if you're homeless in the U. S., you expect them. You know you're not worthy of being treated as a human in the U. S. if you're homeless. She stated, "But your government doesn't show that to the rest of the world. You never seen that put on your TV shows." Exxxxaasccctttlly.😎So why is it that you ask? Because our elites make sure that part isn't shown, so the tax dollars stay here. I can tell you 1 thing... you don't see lines of hundreds and hundreds of tents lining the sidewalks of Monterrey, NL Mexico, with the smell of feces permeating the area for a dozen blocks or more, while hundreds of people shuffle their feet, blank eyed stared from pills, heroin and meth, having given up on life-all by the age of 27... like you do in many U. S. cities. My Dutch friend stated that someone homeless in Holland gets 1K/mo and an apartment within 30 days. The answer to your question is... no other country goes OUT OF THEIR WAY... to put out an image to the world-that they're not. That's why.
A lot of Americans will tell you it's because they have their rights & freedoms. They don't, they never have. It is ALWAYS the corporations and the millionaires who decide what the average American does. And the average American goes along like a good bahhhhing sheep.
Take guns for example.
Watch old movies - there's not a ton of guns been totted around, etc. Ask people born 70, 80 years ago & guns were not that common. Certainly not at today's level.
Nowadays yu'll find every single politicial leader who is PRO gun has their pocket books lined with hundreds of thousands of dollars from GUN manufactoring companies.
If that wasn't the case the 2nd would be followed AS WRITTEN properly wherein ONLY white men age of majority LANDOWNERS are allowed BY LAW to posses a gun and ONLY in a militia. That IS how the 2nd's written. But because gun companies have been paying politicians to be pro gun - because guns are profitable - for years... nobody actually follows the law properly.
Tell me about it, my partner really wants to live over there he really likes the sound of the life style especially in the south but as someone whose been there 3 times its too big of country for me, I can't just go out my house and walk to the shops I'd probably have to drive a good 20 minutes. Plus not having free health care and school shootings scare the hell out of me.
I couldn't have children and take them to school without feeling sick to my stomach everyday. I just imagine getting that phone call

Some people prefer a socialist state that provides a security blanket/safety net for its citizens rather than a government which does as little as necessary but allows you maximum freedoms.
May I ask… where do you live?
For me America is less then perfect but it’s the best country on earth. That’s why I volunteered to fight for it, and swore an oath to protect it.
Let’s be honest, global forces are trying to destroy this great nation but it’s still the most free nation on the planet. Example: “Joe Biden is a dickhead”. In other countries saying that could end you up in jail or worse. In England a women was arrested for praying to herself…. Here we have freedom of speech, and freedom of religion. Now forces are trying to take that away from us but they haven’t yet. That’s why Americans need to fight like hell to keep America free!! Keep us the best nation in the world. For people who have not been here, it's mostly about financial opportunities and freedom.
For people who have lived here for any length of time, it's the people they like. I've heard this from almost everyone I have talked to about it. They are especially surprised at how helpful people are. Although this partly depends on which part of the country you are in.It's not a reason to like the country, but something I hear a lot for first impressions is that everything is big - big roads, big cars, big furniture, big houses, big land, big everything.
America has rights and freedoms other countries don’t and laws that protect such in top of not having to worry about stuff like being hunted down for your beliefs and such. On top of that for people from more improvised countries the idea of moving to a country that’s free market, capitalist where you can start your own business and have a decent chance of succeeding with it, owning assets with the personal money you make, etc is enticing to a lot of people.
thats why a lot of people want to move here to make a better life for themselves and their families.
It’s not for everyone and that’s fine but that’s some of the reasons a lot of people want to move here. They see the stories of people who came here with nothing and were able to through hard work achieve everything then they look at themselves and think maybe I could do that.
May I ask why you don’t like it? I’ve lived here all my life. Spent ten years in the service. Seen a lot of bad things in other countries as well as good things. Here I feel as though I have more freedom. I’m not white so no I don’t have white privilege which I don’t think exist. Are there bad people here? Yes of course they’re everywhere. But I’ve never had an issue w people. Usually you’re respectful they’re respectful back. A lot of times when things happen it’s because people are messing w things they shouldn’t be messing w. Like drugs, gangs, crimes, etc. I like it because I made my life what it is. Which is pretty good actually as a minority. But we all have our opinions. I have a lot of rights, freedoms that a lot of people in other countries don’t.
If you don't like it the best part is that you are free to leave which isn't true in other countries such as China or Russia or N Korea. Nothing is keeping you here if you think there is some place better. Some people would rather be in a country in which lazy, talentless people are coddled by govt to pay them to exist as unproductive people. And most people in those countries would jump at the chance to come to the US. WHY? Because all of those countries are failures in the quality of life that people can achieve because of all of the wasted resources maintaining non productive people. One of the greatest faults of the US is that to too far a degree, that same disease has taken hold of our country. Promoting sub par and non performance is becoming the norm and it is all of us who pay for it. There is no "govt money" in the US. All of the money the govt has is our money which means that when they give it away, it is our money that is being given away!
I'm traveling Europe right now, I am from the United States and I don't think there is anything special about our country. It's the top country only on paper, in practice people live much better in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
Because i was born here its my home. When you were living with your parents as a kid and your parents still own and maintain that house, do you ever go back and feel happy to return to all the memories made in that house growing up. Home is where the heart is.
My home is USA. Just like every home there is disfunction, but it doesn’t make it less my home. I challenge you to show me a perfect nation that never has or had problems ever.Because of the lies spread worldwide. I was born their my wife was their on a work visa. Her family as well they all hate it. We left the US and only reason we maintain our connection is to abuse the financial system. Though some countries have better systems for my purposes.
I think it's about freedom to be able to do anything, USA is really like that, place of many possibilities, good and bad, fast freedom like that.
It was the leader of the free world for decades.. The U. S was and in some ways still is the Beacon on the hill.. The golden shining from above to many countries.. You probably don't like it because you consumed negative things about America, and maybe ran into rude Americans..
I can't give you a decent answer as to why you don't like something without context and/or a specific example as to why you feel that way. As for me, I was born and raised in the United States, and I wouldn't live anywhere else. It's not perfect here (no place is), but it's the best country on the planet when all things are considered.
For all those people who do not like it here please pack your bags and move to the utopia of your choice and leave those of us who love this country alone. You don't have to stay here and bitch about what you don't like. Move and tell them how great they are but leave us alone. There is nothing here you like
Reason I want to go there is to meet Uma Thurman hug her kiss her she my idol my sweetheart I love in UK but I also got told off everyone even taxi drivers family friends that it's very dangerous in America guns all the time killings

Because its seen as the best place to live due to the level of freedoms given to its people
I don't love the US. But still, I would like to discover the world so different from what I know in Europe.
For me cultural differences are fascinating
Freedom to fuck anybody and high minimum wage and freedom to drive a big car. Other than that everything is same as other country. If he doesn’t have a big car or work for low minimum wage or horny for girls but no one around he will want to move there
It's called soft power. When a country tries to spread a good image of itself across the world and make people wanna go there or live there etc. with entertainment.
I was born and raised mostly there, and the best thing I ever did was move from there in 2019. I wouldn't go back there if you paid me.
Have you lived in another country?
Here you have the freedom to do things that you cannot do in other places
