You can and you should. Unfortunately, you either have an outright thief, or you have a crazy person (and those definitely exist too, and can be worse than a thief in their way).

You need to have them trespassed (meaning they cannot come back on your property without your permission or they'll go to jail), and you need to do whatever else you can to secure your property.
