At what point would you move to a different apartment despite having reasonable rent?

I'm not interested in owning at the moment. I love the freedom and convenience of an apartment

Well, I have owned a few properties for a long time now including my own home, but back in the apartment days I really didn't like moving. I chose the apartments based on prime location and amenities, and I was happy with them. However during the time I was renting, moving made financial sense, you moved across the street and paid $200 less. So I guess it was financial back then. Now being in a better financial position, if I was renting my house out in the states and living abroad, I would be moving out of interest in exploring different areas.

If you are in a good location have what you need you shouldn't move. Take advantage of the fact you can cover your bills and save money by saving money. Use some of that saved money to start investing. Consider buying a smaller home to rent out to people for a profit. Get run down homes and pay to have them fixed so you can sell for a profit. Utilize the benefits of having reasonable rent to finance your future.

I said upgrade in environment, but honestly I'd never live in an apartment again. I don't want to share a wall with anyone or have people above/below me if they paid me to live there.

Depends where you live. I've never lived in bad apartments

@dreamlife7 ours is newly renovated and very nice. Just wish we had at least 1.5 baths.

For me if i'm sharing a wall with someone, that constitutes bad apartment. Plus then I can't change the sink out or ceiling fan or what have you to personalize it.

Those are all valid reasons. I’m moving next month because my buddies girlfriend is moving in and our place is WAY too small for 3. And it’s farther out of the city where I can actually afford a somewhat decent place alone
