If a person stands up for themselves and wants the other person to hear their side of the story would say they're combative or just want to be heard?

This would be a situation where an apartment manager vs. Tennant and manager is just being mean and show her authority. The tenant should have a right to tell their side of the story. This is about how tenant has been lied to for 8 years of a major leaking ceiling. First they say it's the boiler. Replaced a year later. Still leaks. Then they say it's the roof, years later the roof get's replaced. Still leaking and part of the ceiling came down. Wouldn't you stick up for yourself if you were continually lied to?

I've been there.. Had an apartment manager who was a real dick, yelled at me, screamed at me over something I could not possibly have done. Refused to listen to me, until he chose to push me physically.. Big mistake. I was raised to ever raise my hands against someone unless they put there hands on me first. I grabbed my scrawny apartment namager by the neck slammed him against the wall, lifted him off of his feet and told him that he was either going to listen to me or he was going to die. Then I sat him on my couch and explained to him that if he spoke up just once, while I was talking he would die. I explained things to him, and told hem to get the fuck out of my apartment.

Later on he attempted to have me arrested, but my surveillance cameras caught the audio and video of what happened, leading to him being fired.. I have zero tolerance for power tripping property managers.

Who is she lying to? There must be some authority that oversees tenant complaints. Make sure yo let them know what is going on. If you cannot do it in person send a letter. Send it registered mail. Then follow it up with a phone call. You have the law on your side but like most people that work in the public sector nobody does their job

Just wanna be heard.
There's been plenty of times where people automatically thought I was guilty of something when they never bothered to listen to my side of the story that PROVED my innocence!
