Why does my dog only listens to me but not others?

When we go out for a walk or when a friend of mine come over, she just does not respond to them when they call her or when they command something like "sit" or "give me your paw", she doesn't do that. she does only do it if I say. Why is that?

Your dog has probably decided you're his or her person. The bond you two share seem strong to me. You've likely spent a lot of time together, maybe without even realizing it, doing things like playing and chilling at home. Dogs are super smart when it comes to picking up on who's taking care of them, giving them treats, and showing them love.

Plus, you probably have this way of communicating with your dog that's unique to you two. It could be your voice, the way you give commands, or it may be even your body language. Dogs are incredibly good at reading these things. So, when others try to get the same response from your dog, it just doesn't click the same way because that special understanding of you two because your dog is used to your way.

I dont think it is a bad thing at all. If you want your dog to listen to others as well, it might help to have them spend more time with other people, doing fun stuff or even a bit of training.

It might be the breed of dog you own. Some dogs are born with the natural proclivity to only accept one master while other dogs are born with the ability to accept a host of different masters and leaders.

Pack animals. Some cop was being an ass trying to boss my Grandfather around. My Grandfather said "you think you got power? Try ordering my dog around" the cop shot my grandfather's dog and then arrested my Grandfather but his point still stands.

she knows whom is in charge of the pack and that's you. the others have no priority.

if they start feeding her, she might listen.

its possible she doesn't hear well or the same.

it isn't just sound... dogs have great senses and sense of smell. they know a threat before you do.

She only listens to your commands cause you are her owner she won’t listen to others unless she has your permission to do so you’ve trained her very well

I would take that to mean that your dog feels closer to you than anyone else and therefore what you say matters more than what anyone else says when they communicate with her.
