How often would you say a recessive gene still wins and shows up immediately?

This is Marc Anthony (American singer-songwriter) and his wife Nadia Ferreira, Paraguayan fashion model and beauty pageant. It looks like she has blue or green eyes and is more white than him.

This is their baby with gray-bluish eyes just like the mother. Marc Anthony has to have blue/green eyes in his family. Her genes took over. It didn't skip. How often does that happen?

Quite often. Consider a Punnett square and two heterozygous parents. You get 1/4 BB, 1/4 bb, and 1/2 Bb. Now, that's 3/4 dominant, phenotypically, but if you count the letters of each size, it's dead even.

And that's assuming simple autosomal dominance, which is far from always the case.

True. 1/4 is still just 25% and it still beat the odds. Marc Anthony for sure is a carrier. There must be someone in his family with recessive genes.
