I wouldn't do it with a dangerous wild animal. Hell no!
Up to 1970, Yosemite had a dump. Bears would come to forage and tourists would go to see the bears. My family went there some time in the 1960s and saw the bears up close, but never approached them like idiots.
The behavior of some of those tourists was unbelievable - holding food up high to make bears stand on their hind legs to reach for it while someone took a photo; placing their kid next to a bear and then stepping back to take a photo.
When I was a kid, there was a place called The Alligator Farm nearby. They had shows where they would invite guest and even little kids to come inside an enclosure and get their photos taken with some really big alligators. Even though I would have been up for it, my parents never volunteered me to do that. LOL
As an adult, I've been within feet of bears, deer, elk and even a female moose in the wild. I took photos but never walked up to take a selfie.
Why would I need to? I know how to use Photo Shop!
Photo Shop does wonders & so do green screens. I like you answer.
Cheers Buddy.
Thank you for choosing my answer as MHO
The female presenter is absolutely correct. We sometimes just need to allow nature to have its way with clowns like this. If the mother of the bear had been around, they would have been attacked for sure, because they become incredibly aggressive when they feel their offspring are in danger.
I just hope the bear cub doesn’t get rejected by momma bear when she returns because the cub has a different scent from people handling it.
I have had my picture taken with Alligators, crocodiles, killer whales, sharks, and panthers.. just to name a few. Luckily haven’t had any issues in all my years on earth!
Safety First as they say & if you are taking pictures just be careful.

I'm always amazed at how many people put themselves (and the wild animal) into dangerous situations. Some examples: Man approaches a buffalo in Yellowstone to get a close-up picture and gets gored. Woman approaches a baby elephant with mother elephant a short distance away, on safari in Africa, with her friends videoing it, and gets trampled. Group of 4 teens swim in an alligator-infested river in Australia, only 2 get out of the water.
I guess it's similar to the guy who stood on the edge of the Grand Canyon to take a selfie, slipped and fell 2000 feet to his death.
I voted “yes”, but it’s more of a probably.
I relish “when animals attack” videos and have a better than average understanding of wild animal behavior and interactions with humans. That said, i’m pretty sure i’m going to die from a bear attack. No matter how vicious some of the attacks i’ve seen and heard are, i can’t not want to hug bears on sight. Ell oh ell! They look completely cuddly!
Fortunately i haven’t encountered a bear in the wild. When i do, i’m definitely gonna fire up a Marco Polo, show my family and friends, and say “Goodbye”. Ell oh ell!
I took pictures of a wild tiger that was less than 10 meters away but I wouldn't go as far as going upto it and taking a selfie with it :P One time we saw two porcupines right by our path in Canada when we were in a national park they were munching on some greens but this was before selfies were even a thing. And I didn't wanna get shot at with their quills so we didn't bother them too much we just had a look and kept going.
I don't think so. You hear people saying all the time that they like their space. Well wild animals like it even more and they don't like it when you're in it.
We all like our space & the second you step in their space you are in trouble especially if they are territorial or have little ones to protect.
Some people should be sent into the woods with a pork chop necklace.
I totally agree.
I volunteer to strap them on.
Yes I would. Here is a picture of me and a wild animal :)
Nice Bro! Catch & release, or dinner that night? Snow on the ground, yuck.
At the zoo yes but at a non safe environment where there’s no closure where the animals are … no
Don’t want to be eaten I’d run
If you run you are probably lunch as well.
True but I just don’t want to be eaten alive
Probably a tiger at the zoo I’ve seen people do that before but together shoulder to shoulder but a wild animal they’re not trusted shoulder to shoulder
As for a zoo I can totally understand it however in the wild, I don’t think so. In North Carolina a few jokers pulled a bear cub out of a tree to take selfies & the idiots are lucky momma bear wasn’t around.
I manage to still have respect for both self and nature. Minus the two raccoons who I'm having almost nightly educational interactions with in my yard. Security cameras will do what they will.
People who do this are usually winners of the Darwin Awards.
I actually forgot about the Darwin Awards & the people who pulled the baby cub out of the tree to take selfies were luck that momma bear wasn’t around or they would of got awards.
Very true.
They’ve been a few, but not usually selfies. I wouldn’t turn my back to a dangerous animal except from a safe distance.
You turn your back on a wild animal they will pounce on you & after that you are lunch.
No unless it’s drugged like they seem to do in other countries that do that
It saddens me to hear when they drug animals & I wouldn’t be surprised if they drug them here in the states as well.
They might do it here but I think it’s illegal here , still dangerous for the animals since it might kill them just for a picture
Nope, not me. I hardly do selfies.
Same here & I always say selfies are selfish & if I’m out in public I just ask someone to take my picture.
I'd rather take pictures of my nails than do a selfie.
I’m not that kind of white person😂
And if you were you probably would be red if the wild animal attacked & I’m sure your shorts would be brown.
No and that group is lucky the momma bear did not come around
Oh hell no. Are you F ing crazy?
Crazy YES, Stupid NO.
I've done it...
part of my daily routine
That sounds fun & dangerous at the same time so be safe bro.
