Couple months ago completely screwed up. It was an immediate reaction, during a very difficult time of my life. That reaction brought nothing but severe consequences in every aspect of my life. Now, I am lost, and feel like I have no floor beneath my feet.
How, do I forgive myself, move on, and try to become better?
Here are some suggestions for moving on from a massive mistake:
- Take responsibility. Own up to what you did, apologize sincerely, and do what you can to make amends. Don't make excuses.
- Learn from it. Reflect deeply on what led to your actions and how you can prevent similar mistakes in the future. Develop more self-control.
- Forgive yourself. Beating yourself up won't change the past - focus on becoming better now. Everyone screws up, it's part of growing.
- Talk to trusted friends/family for support. Getting things off your chest can help you process and heal emotionally.
- Seek help from a counselor if needed. Speaking with a professional can help give you tools and perspective.
- One day at a time. Rebuilding will take time - be patient with yourself. Day by day, you'll start to feel steadier on your feet again.
- Keep busy and look ahead. Throwing yourself into your work, hobbies, relationships etc. will distract from dwelling on the past. Focus on the present.
Mistakes don't define you - how you grow from them does. Keep your head up homie, you've got this. This too shall pass as long as you keep putting in the work.
You have to learn how to cut your losses. That path you were on was the wrong path. It is in the past and you need to bury it there. There will be no resurrection. Now you need to look at the rest of your life and what you want it to be like. Ask yourself is it feasible that you can get there. Of it is, make a plan to get there.
You have to make sure to get a good lawyer to put a lid on the legal issues so they can never come back to hurt you. You can recover from personal and financial issues over time.
I would move on by dealing with it and trying to fix it.

Furthermore, reconnecting with your core values will help you rediscover your footing and direction. The road to recovery might seem long and winding, but remember, every step forward is a step away from the past. You do whatever you have to do and keep going. I went through a horrible divorce. Now I'm happily remarried, looking forward to an early and comfortable retirement.
One day at a time.
Have a long term goal.
Accept that enduring the process is inevitable and don’t let the bitterness settle in.
Own it, learn from it (and then teach others not to make the same mistake), make restitution (if needed), rebuild on increasingly larger steps, celebrate each victory.
No matter how bad (short of life in prison), you will be able to rebuild. Start with the basics, just survival, and slowly work up from there. Eventually, new paths will open up for you, be receptive to them even if they seem odd at the time.
Good or bad, what happened, happened. Keep breathing, in and out. Learn from it then let go. You cannot go back but you can go forward. It's what you do next that matters.
You already have. Your contrite and reflective. Now just be stoic in the face of those consequences and get support like a therapist.
No clue, so far I have been fortunate not to have done that.

You get up and start over, move on. As long as you get up one time more than you are knocked down, you will make it.
