Our one dog died a couple of years ago. My hubby kept insisting we get another playmate for our remaining dog and I was reluctant because I am the one who always has to look after all of our pets wellbeing. A co-worker needed to rehome her French bulldog. I don't believe in buying dogs from breeders personally, all our pets have been rescues. I know Frenchies have a "love them or hate them" reputation. I told my husband about the dog and he said "get him before somebody else gets him, our dog needs a friend". I was still reluctant, but told my co-worker we'd take the dog. I think he's pretty cool, so does my daughter and so does my dog. The Frenchie is acclimating himself into our household. All of a sudden, my husband says I need to give him back, calls the dog "annoying". The Frenchie is playful, likes to be around us, potty trained and is pretty chill. I don't see what the problem is. When I ask my husband why, he said "I thought we were getting a real dog", like wtf? He knew the breed before I got him. It's not these dogs fault that people continue to pay money, therefore people will continue to breed them. I'm at a loss. I refuse to give him back and my daughter doesn't want to either. I'm the one who is always playing with, cleaning, feeding, and taking the pets to the vet and my husband does nothing. Honestly, I didn't even want another dog, but here he is. I am not the kind of person who just ditches animals when it's not convenient. I should've prefaced this with I think my husband can be a total d! ck at times and has some undiagnosed BPD because his mood swings are hard to deal with.

Sounds like you bend over backwards to keep him happy , can't he get over what ever it is if your daughter likes him and you liked him that would be all that would matter to me I have had quite a few dogs and the only dog I ever gave away was a runt of the litter pit bull she was so awesome but every time my buddy would stop by my dog just loved him and he was moving to a new state where he knew nobody so I said hey john you can have her she really likes you a lot and I want you to have her so he took her and was very greatful and i was a little sad but i knew he would spoil her
obviously he can change his mind.
why aren't you supportive of your husband who you commited to him. make the marriage work succeed
