Are there wild ANIMALS in your NEIGHBORHOOD?

Question

I live in the suburbs of a large city in Southeast US. Along with peoples' pet dogs and cats, there are several wild animals in the neighborhood.

There are lots of birds, of all kinds, from tiny hummingbirds to large crows and hawks. Squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits and at least one opossum roam the area. There are a few snakes and rats, though we try to control them. Some people have small koi ponds, with koi fish and frogs in them, and tiny skinks (not skunks) are sometimes seen. Occasionally, a coyote will wander into the area. And deer often feast on small trees and vegetable gardens.

How about you? What kinds of non-domesticated animals may be seen in your neighborhood?

Is crow ( actually a raven ) that feeds from rubbish bins domesticated or wild? It is a bit of both but because they don't answer to "Jimmy" I am rating as wild life.

In my inner city locale we have black swans and very assorted ducks but many of those will be domestics gone wild. Occasional Kookaburras are seen. Too many scavenging seagulls and doves. Around the pier there are fairy penguins, occassional dolphins and assorted fishes.

No koalas, kangaroos, emus.

There is the odd dingo but only because a few people have them as pets. Since they seem to have a penchant for nipping female asses it is good they aren't wild.

Rabbits and squirrels are common in my yard and occasionally raccoons and opossum. There are deer in my area but not in my immediate neighborhood. There's a million kinds of birds all over the place because I live on a migratory bird path. And there's a pretty good amount of trees in my neighborhood. And fish and sea creatures are common because it's a coastal town on the ocean which is walking distance from my house.

When I was a kid there were large turtles in our yard here but you don't see them anymore. If you take a walk through the woods sometimes you'll see snakes.

Javelina, Coyotes, snakes are frequent, roadrunners, quail and jackrabbits everywhere. Desert Tortoises sometimes. An occasional racoon wanders around. There seems to be one mountain lion around more and more frequently. I think twice maybe a deer has come nearby. I think twice a gila monster. Once I saw this strange animal I'd never seen before. I had to look it up and it was a coati. My neighborhood is somewhat outside the city, mostly developed but not totally so there's lots of desert around still.

Foxes and badgers come our at night and we've lots of bats. There's no deer that I know of. I know there's an otter in the local stream and adders (snake) are found on the local sand dunes so they're possibly here too but I've never seen one. As for birds, jackdaws, rooks, and crows are ubiquitous as are various seabirds and a red kite comes to visit least once a day.

It's Florida, we not only have coyotes, humming birds, (and all measure of wild tropical birds) opossum, squires, snakes, frogs, raccoons, rabbits, and the occasional deer and rarely a black bear... We also have Iguanas and alligators! My fiancee told me they have wild monkeys down in South Florida to deal with as well!

I live in the city so not really except for the spotting of a Wild Scooty. She can get a little wild sometimes and usually will eat your tacos and drink your margaritas. She also will start dancing for no reason and keep eye contact while doing it just to fuck with you. She'll also be incredibly goofy, just her nature.

Pretty much all of the above except for the more exotic species in your picture list above. I do get the occasional elk, bear, lynx and moose. We are supposedly going to have wild boar in the next year or two, they've already invaded southern Ontario. We never had them before as the winters used to be cold enough that they would not come this far north.

There are humans around where I live. I try not to let them see me.

Also I hear foxes sometimes. Their sound is pretty obvious because they sound like a woman being raped. I mean someone might be getting raped out there, but I choose to believe it is just the foxes.

I live in the South of the US in a major city, and about 20 minutes from our downtown area. Like a lot of neighborhoods, we have a community page where people can post about things in the neighborhood happening, so on ring cameras or with neighbors just taking pictures, we've seen alligators, wolves, possums, seagulls, vultures, hawks, squirrels, snakes, and egrets.

Squirrels, birds, hawks, vultures, eagles ( we have them here!), coyotes, skunks, opposums, and twice people saw a bear near my area. That’s rare and some didn’t didn’t it until someone found bear poop in the area it was spotted.

I have seen plenty of deer and foxes. One of my cats was killed by a coyote. Supposedly a bear was spotted in my neighborhood.
