Why do mexicans have old stuff?

How come so many Hispanics have old stuff all the time. Like a landscape trailer for example. Old rusty rims, bent up fenders etc. Do they just buy stuff cheap or does it get handed down from family members?

It's because they can do math.

Maybe they make $80,000 a year, which means after taxes they get about $45,000. They could either buy a new truck for $40,000 and pay $14,000 a year for 5 years (or about $70,000 total) between financing and insurance costs, OR they could pay $5000 for an old truck and drive that for 5 years before replacing it and keep that $65,000 to, say, upgrade their house, or send a kid to college, or invest in growing their business.

They understand the value of that $65,000 of extra money they can keep by not being so image-conscious about their work truck, and here's the thing: no one cares what their landscaper's truck looks like, as long as they do a good job landscaping at a fair price.

Maybe you should buy the landscaping guys a new trailer. In case you've never done actual landscaping, it will fuck up your truck and trailer pretty quick if you do it everyday.
