I know there's many other words that get used incorrectly, name some if y'all can think of em lol
What word do you think gets used incorrectly a lot?
I know there's many other words that get used incorrectly, name some if y'all can think of em lol
You know i got love for ya, but gonna disagree with your statement.
As a person who was sexually assaulted, it is definitely very brave to speak out.
And sexual harassment and groping can be just as hard to tell others.
It is very hard to tell anyone, what happened to you. The fear of being judged, being told you deserved to be treated like a piece of meat.
The shame of admitting someone overpowered you, in an attempt to take your dignity by force
I still haven't told my parents, because I'm to embarrassed to tell them what was done to me, and what was almost done to me by that scum.
Bravery means having the guts to do what needs to be done, even if it means taking risks or facing danger head-on. Courage means having the strength of character required for such actions by acting confidently even when faced with adversity or uncertainty.
It falls more into courage than bravery.
I still think it's a stretch lol
Rhetoric!! Everyone today seems to think that it means: ANYTHING any specific person says or any specific talking point a certain group might say.
Basically, rhetoric is a question asked that either doesn't require an answer or no answer is expected. To ask something rhetorically.
Why do they call Wed. "hump day:" when everyone usually gets it on the weekends?
Why do they call buildings,, "buildings" when they're already done building them? They should be called, "buillts". Or "crumblings" because that's what they're gonna be doing from now on.
Why is it called, "rush hour" when your car just sits there?
Why is easy listening music so hard to listen to?
Those are rhetorical questions/statements.
Wrong. Rhetoric is indeed what a certain person or group say. Rhetoric and rhetorically do not have the same scope. See here:
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/rhetoric
@DryGermanGuy I already looked it up back in the `70's.
Obviously that didn't work out very well as its meaning has not changed since then.
@DryGermanGuy If you say so.
a word used VERY often is cult... a lot! just to insult opponents but not accurately.
just to be offensive. usualy offensive gets censored unless... it is aimed at "the appropriate side." that offensive is allowed. sometimes rewarded. "superb". for being "engaging" which is really triggering.
People saying things "resound" with them, rather than "resonate" with them. Resound is a weaker word, but resonate means something builds strength as it continues to sound. It has greater impact in speech.
Also, the use of "irregardless" instead of "regardless". "Irregardless" literally means to not not regard, which means to essentially pay attention to whatever it is they are discussing. That is not what most people mean when they use it. They mean it in the sense of "in spite of X, etc."
I'll grit my teeth and shut up now. :D

Any homophones tend to be used in written contexts the wrong way.
FEMINIST is certainly a word that's been stretched to hell and back till it's lost its meaning completely.
Yea definitely, they ruined the word actually lol
Now it's just short hair freaks trippingl about mens existence lol
I know, I was just stereotyping
homophones like:
guy: "did you go to any movies last week? i went to to"
gal: "i went to to to." lol
‘I understand’ yet continues to do the opposite of what was intended
Lol.
Is it ok if i tell my cat that when i really have NO FUCKING CLUE what he wants? Asking for a friend...
@DrPepper12 tell him to show you or he can forget catnip and sunbathing near the window in peace.
here can't type rn

Clean your damn hands 😂
Facts!
dont tell me what to do CHICA
and i cleaned them like AT LEAST a solid 15 minutes after i sent that lol
That's still quite a while of stalling 😂
yeah.
LISTEN listen...
i was watching a show and my legs & feet are sore, so i was feeling too lazy to get up
Okay hold up, I'm trying not to think wrong but the more you say things the harder it becomes to not think wrong because first why would you lay down with your hands dirty second your legs and feet were sore and you were watching a show and if you say your hands weren't dirty before watching the show, that will seal the deal, I was thinking maybe you were making a pizza but that sounds unlikely 😂
How about u just tell me cause this is sounding like an Aayooo moment no lie
Facts... that's what I was thinking. lol.
Yep that's quite a TMI moment 💀
what the hell did i just read LMAO
i ate pizza, so my hands were dirty. i was sore bc of work and my new shoes suck so i was just comfy being on that couch
no TMI here you gotta worry about
See was that so hard? I felt like a damn milk farmer the way you had me milking for some valid details on what you were talking about 😂
LMAOOOO.
nope
more like you BAITED me into giving more details
😇😇😇
Pedophile is frequently used incorrectly such as calling a twenty-five year old a pedophile if he is dating a sixteen year old.
Yea that just falls into creep pedophilia is children specifically if I'm not mistaken which is 12 and under
What's it called when it's about teens tho, teenaphilia? 😂
I never would've guessed that 💀
I bet you searched it up tho 😂
I would've done the same
Literally. It almost never is.
Like. So is it like xyz or is it xyz?
Shocked. 🙄
I gotta say fire. Like this food is fire. That's not what fire means lol.
🌚🌚🌚
What's that supposed to mean?
I use fire 🌚
and? you use it wrong. I mean I use fire too but slang is lowkey stupid and incorrect.
Well I didn't make it up so it's not my problem 😌
Lol, true.
Disingenuous. Everyone and their mum is using it
What does the word even mean? Lol
That must give second hand embarrassment, the words don't sound anything alike 😂
Oh that's an easy one for me to answer Chico.
When people misuse the word 'So' by putting it at the start of a response to a question.
sweet! i do that at the start of chapters in my stories just to be relatable... but you are right that is misused.
@strateguy632 You know when someone asks a question, and the start of the response is 'so...'. I wanna shout.. SO BLOODY WHAT! lol I can't help it.. I just find it grates on me.
@Crimsyjo oO can really go off of people ya know :P I'm just kiddin' >:D<
Let me see if I can narrow down WHY it irritates me so much.. It doesn't feel a natural answer. It's as if it's contrived. I would rather the person held up a finger to signify 'wait a minute' and then answer. I'm not all that keen on 'well' at the start of a sentence either.. It's just a pet peeve. We all have them I suppose.
Haha I don't like people saying "like" a lot as a filler word even tho sometimes I find myself doing it too if I'm around someone younger who does it. Just to sound on their level lol.
Oh God... both our pet peeves together! Just imagine!
"So, like, I was gonna do this thing like and so when I got there like it was so stupid"...

same category "experts" when hiding name.
Like! Especially in Britsh youth culture nowadays
Gaslighting, toxic, narcissistic
Lol true
I agree. The minute we disagree or address something with someone and they don't like it, we're "gaslighting" them. Gaslighting is trying to control how someone views reality. I have found that when someone uses the term, they are usually the ones gaslighting, because they are in denial of reality and don't want to be challenged or confronted.
Random.
Literally
they put that in a comedy "guy: it was literaly a million degrees" gal: "literally?"
''patriotic'' :D
