I agree with you, but some guys and a few girls want to enjoy the benefits of a relationship and still sleep with other people on the side without allowing their partner to do the same thing. Hence, the need to cheat.

  some people remain single as their status of no commitment... but they still get into situationships, which in they might not be completely honest about their ways
  
  casual sex for example... and STD's spread does happen because of this lack of honesty, which is a form of cheating
