Do air purifiers work in your opinion?

I'm thinking of buying an air purifier for spring/summer time as myself and one of my cats gets pretty bad allergies 😂

It would honestly mostly be for him because I can just keep downing antihistamines and nasal sprays whereas he can only take 5mg a day.

In your experience do they work?

Yes, if you get a large one with a HEPA filter. Honeywell is the brand I have and it made a huge difference. Get the largest one you can afford, and possibly another one for the bedroom.

I will say this; when I pulled the carpet out of my house and replaced the flooring, and then painted the interior, my own allergies completely vanished. I think my system was just overloaded and that's why my body was freaking out. My allergies didn't start until I was an adult. Now, even when it's bad in the springtime and fall, I have no symptoms and everyone else is complaining about how bad the pollen is. I actually rarely pull my air purifier out now.

The good ones work. Just change the filter regularly.

depends on the type. if you got a hepa filta based purifier, it'll do a good job purifying the air for a few days and then it's gonna spread bakteria and viruses that live and grow in the filter xD

if you have an Ionizer or Electrostatic Precipitator, it'll purify the air of viruses and bakteria allright but poison it with ozone instead xD

so just letting in some fresh air is best. allergies vanish with exporsure anyway. i know this cause i'm allergic to cats but it goes away if i cuddle with it daily.

Do you own your house or rent? If you are not a renter then you might want to look into this.   This also works against COVID.

I have one and find it's great for pulling in that fine dander hair from the pup. I have one that allows you to change Hepa or wash the coarse filter foam that wraps around it.

There are ones that work. The ones you see on sale on HSN are probably not one of them.

If you have a high quality one they work. You can even get one installed as part of your hvac system if you have the $$$. Having house plants can drastically improve you houses air quality as well.

yep they definitely do. mine was like $200 at Home Depot or Lowes (I forget), but made a very noticeable difference for me and my asthma at home.
