What do you do to entertain yourself with no internet or tv and everywhere is closed?
For me it all depends on if I'm alone or with someone else and who I'm with.

We lose power a lot where I live. We lose power for 5-20 hours several times a year. We are never high priority to get it turned back on. So if it doesn't come on right away with a reset, it will probably be at least 5 hours. I've lost power a few times for 5-6 days.
I'm a night owl, so at night I'd never get to sleep if I went to bed. So I get out the candles, camp lanterns and headlights. I sit and read until I'm tired of reading, then read some more.
We lose power enough that I'm well stocked on various kinds of lighting. I'm also prepared for heating loss in the winter.
During the day, I'll usually talk to neighbors. We might all go out to eat if the restaurants have power. I might go to the store or library if they have power. I can also get WiFi there. (I don't have a cell phone, so I lose all communication and Internet)
I have a sump pump. If we've had enough rain to fill it, I'll be bailing water.
Neighbors on both sides have generators. They let me tap in to keep the fridge and sump alive. But I don't usually do that until at least 24 hours.
As soon as we lose power, I take a shower. I get it done before the water gets cold. I don't know when my next shower will be.
When the power is out for an extended period, I usually don't have time to entertain myself. I'm checking around the house, lighting candles, replacing batteries in flashlights, and making sure there are no problems, I also check on my neighbors to see if they need help with anything.
You're a good neighbor Tom
I have 5 cellphones, 2 laptops and portable generators that charge all my appliances and electronics. I watch DVDs or watch downloaded streams so I can watch online without internet.
I use camping stoves and butane to cook outside and to boil fresh water.
I have a refrigerator outside that's both electric and propane powered. I just switch it to propane so food doesn't spoil.
We have USB powered fans and air conditioners so we stay cool inside. Sometimes we will crack a window to save power.
We have tea light candles and dollar tree lanterns and work lights from harbor freight to light up the entire room.
And I have books to read or coloring books. If it's kid activities - they have power for their switch thanks to the generators but we also play uno or mancala.
Read or go outside. At night I wash up and go to sleep
What you doing outside?
You got a piggy?
Awww. I want one lol
How big is he?
Ohh he's a big baby.
Now I want a pig ๐คฃ๐คฃ

Indoors, the game boy color is easy on energy consuming, a good pack of batteries will suffice, like 32 ? I never played Link's Awakening really, neither the oracle episodes so that would be an opportunity.
Game boy advance would be good too, even if more consuming, advance wars and metroid episodes can keep me running for a long time.
Indoors and outdoors, some drawing studies, pen and paper style, I would like that, I probably even need that since I'm only drawing with a mouse. Outdoors, I'd probably reuse the camera I abandoned last year, although a bit frustrating to shoot without postprocess possibilities on a short term, and battery, assuming full charge, will die in three hours. So not that good.
Ofc, good company of conversationalists is a huuuuge plus, but it's not that easy to find lol.
Listen to a radio. Read. Go outside. But I am betting those people in the southeast had plenty to do with raising furniture off the floor, sandbagging, helping neighbors. No time to "entertain" themselves.
Yeah especially in Florida
I usually pull out my butane side burners and make my doomsday coffee with breakfast, then I usually keep a flashlight with me and a roll of toilet paper looped into my belt on one hip and my swiss army knife on the other. If I'm feeling really strongly that the power grid has completely failed us I will put shoe polish under my eyes, tear my sleeves off, and run into the woods.
Aka I use my imagination and will write a story, or read one to pass the time. Lol
Start up the small generator to keep refrigerator and freezer running. Hook up the big generator to run the well pump and water heater to take showers.
Do whatever is needed. I can produce my own electricity as long as I have fuel for them.
Thankfully i got a nintendo switch... so i can play that for a few hours until the battery dies. Otherwise i'd probably try to sleep or something. if its in the middle of the day maybe go out to where there is power and chill there awhile
Go just walk up in somebody else's home and use their power
ok ill use yours!
Hahaha fair enough
Don't worry ill share my games with ya lol.
I always found these situations fun. Iโd probably barbque, sit outside in my backyard with some beers and have a fire.
Sounds like fun
I light some candles Iโve been looking for an excuse to light and if the kids are still up, we tell stories. If the kids are asleep, we cuddle and make out.
not during a hurricane, lol...
but most of the neighbors go out and hang out, one of the good great thing about BBQ's is that you don't really need electricity to fire a good one and yes... we've had a few after midnight BBQ's when the power is out for a long long time
but that's if alone... if I'm in good great company, then we're dining on our own...
Acoustic guitar, book, red wine. If I'm with a lover maybe something else.
Enough red wine and guitar and the something else is probably happening.
Lolololololol yep
At night: candles or moonlight if the sky is clear, and acoustic guitar.
During the day: go outside.
Oh I'd love to have somebody play me guitar like that.
Alone, I turn on a flashlight and read a book.
With someone else, I'd take the excuse to not work (I work from home) and have sex instead or just cuddle.
Cleaning out my fridge/freezer. Making a new list of groceries to buy.
Sit in my bed with a candle on. Read my bible with a flashlight and continue to get up and down to see what is going on outside my door. Cell phone use too.
@mandyfire98 It's easy.. either sex or a seance Lol (if you're really freaky maybe both)😜😂
Just went through this for six days and it was god awful. Clean up debris outside, pace around the house, cook outside, listen to the radio, etc.
You can just take a walk or meditate or cook some delicious dish for yourself.
I'd have no power to cook.
Ohh sorry I was not aware of that as I am from India and power cuts do not interrupt cooking here haha.
Yeah our stoves or ovens won't work. We have grills but I don't personally have one.
For me, only a few aspects depend on whether I am alone or not. Probably reading something, maybe cleaning, sleeping and lots of sexual activities 😅
If the power goes out for an extended time I'll fire up the generator to power my house. I'll be able to stream all the shows that I want.
Maybe fire up the grill, or go out on my deck and read.
I'm pregnant. We had sex by candlelight in the basement while the storm went on.
Just watched movies on my phone, and some games, luckily I kept my phone charged in between power outages, also was with my girl and her family so we talked a lot
It's fun, we break out the candles, and we talk about all the stuff we're into
I just get out the camping gear and use what I need. The only fear I have is food spoilage or heat if it's winter
Talk and read. Play guitar. Go for a walk.
It has never happened to me
Never?
Nope I've had an outage because of a blown fuse when I was a kid (now even that is very easy you just flip a switch and it's on) but the power grid has never failed in Switzerland once in my entire life. At least where I live. In the mountains if there's like a landslide or something it might fail but the grid itself is very solid :) We produce a decent amount of power we have 30 % is covered by dams, then we still have some nuclear powerplants, we have wind and solar too and that covers all together like 70% of the demand. If there's not enough then we just buy it from a neighboring country. When it comes to infrastructure Switzerland is very good at it and it's also a point of pride for them they don't want to let people down.
Of course it's Switzerland lol. I've only ever heard of everything working and looking amazing there. Don't y'all have like the fastest Internet in the world too?
Study for school with the physical textbooks I got. PHYSICAL FTW!
If my friends are over, d&d or other board games
If Iโm by myself read
Board games, good ol reliables
What's your go to?
