Is overdoing an apology just as annoying as the jerk that never told you sorry?

If someone wrongs you and they don't apologize, they're jerks. What about if they do apologized, you forgive them but from time to time, they continue apologizing? They feel they can't forgive themselves that they apologize repeatedly.

I met someone like that once. There was a point I wanted to talk about other topics and they brought back that moment, how they feel like apologizing again and again. Is that just as annoying too? Logically all extremes in life are bad.

If you never apologize when you're wrong, then obviously you're selfish. But if you apologize too much, that can't be good either.

Either scenario is the result of an insecurity. At least with the person who apologizes too much, you're still talking and you can tell them "stop, that's enough, I accepted your apology".

If say a woman kept apologizing for wronging me I'd assume it's part of her game. Some women want to keep rehashing it. Because the high for hurting you once just simply isn't enough.

I have less contact with her as a result. There was a point I wanted a normal conversation with the ''bringing up the misdeed and how sorry she is again''. Ever had someone overdo an apology?

No, I don't think I've ever really got much of an apology from anyone ever. Except from my friends in AA, but they never go overboard
