Why doesn’t anyone look at anybody when they are out and about?

When I was younger I would go to the store or be out and about and get a friendly smile with a hi. Everyone was just so friendly. It seems people walk around with shutters on their eyes looking straight ahead.

Mainly for the young women, it can be fully misunderstood if she starts smiling and addressing everyone with a "hi"

How would you react if a 20 year old woman comes up to you, smiles at you and says "hi"?

You would think she wants something from you or or hitting on you.

It is much better that people are not too friendly with strangers because everything nowadays is sexualized.

There is no need to be friendly with others. Just remain civil.

I’m talking about just walking past someone not stopping them. And I’m mean people in general. I mean if she wants to follow me around and smile that’s on her.
