How do you get over the death of a family member?

My brother was a popular guy never did anything wrong in his life such a nice guy he was in to music and had a band he was in for about 6 years he showed no signs of dealing with depression or something like that and yesterday he committed Suicide at the age of 27

There is no manual you can consult, no right or wrong way to cope with the loss of a beloved family member.

Each person handles the pain differently.

You have already given us a few facts that you have selected to describe your brother.

Hold onto those good memories, cherish them, make them your default views of him and share them with those that knew him.

Not only do you honor his memory but you don't forget.

Remembering those good times and laughing while reminiscing is the best way to go about it.

Forgetting is as if you would let him die a 2nd. time.

So laugh because that is what he would have wished.

😔 It is ok to cry and to show emotions. Those are signs of love but laughing is equally healing, mainly when you talk with his kids.

Of coure it is. He had his entire life ahead of him, to see his kids grow up, to see them having kids of their own.

Fate did not allow it and that is why you have to be strong, for them, your parents and for yourself.

We were twins as well so that doesn't help

Spend time with them. It will help all of you because at that age, the concept of death is not really understood. They have a difficult time grasping the idea but they do understand that daddy is gone for a long time.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my oldest brother last winter. We were very close. It was sudden. He was in good health we thought he would out live us all. I'm still hurting & missing him 10 months later.

it takes time, but you need to start finding yourself. find something that makes you happy but doesn't depend on anyone else. and sometimes the best thing to do is hug someone or hug a pillow if you can't find anyone and just cry it out a little
