Do you think allowing people to commit suicide is humane or inhumane?

I believe it's just inhumane, I know some may argue but personally no matter what issues someone may have I don't think suicide is a good solution, it's just a waste of their life, a life that at some point can have much better results if they kept their seatbelt on the rollercoaster, pain can be molded and sometimes even cured with time, suicide might be mercy to pain but not pulling the trigger is the real mercy cause suicide might just be ending something that might turn out to be beautiful.

what do you mean "allowing people to commit suicide"? do you think people who have decided to end their lives are waiting for you to let them?

there are two types of suiciders:
1. people who are crying for help, they don't want to die and all their actions are just loud crying for attention and help... they actions are chaotic, not planned and rather have low chances to succeed... they should be seen ASAP and should get any possible help...
2. people, who are already after the point of asking for help... they either tried and it didn't work or tried and no one noticed them... their actions are meticulous, well planned and created in the way to draw as less attention as possible... their success rate is quite high...

the best is to see people with their problems and offer them at least the shoulder to vent out... to cry, to say loudly what is wrong... also direct them to institutions that can help with their mental state but also those that can help solve their problems... it is not about allowing suicide or not... it's about seeing people... their struggles... and having courage to help them...

I can understand why someone old or with an incureable disease may choose that path to end their suffering. Others may want a more dignified death than spending the last few years with dementia.

The big problem I've got is it's a small step to society heaping pressure on people "to do the right thing and die". Would we see memes asking "why are you still alive" or stressing people should stop being a burden to family or health services. It's a tough question.

Even as someone who has struggled with depression for over 3/4s of my life and attempted at just 4 years of age, I don't think it should be "allowed."

1) suicide is a terrible thing that greatly impacts those around the victim.
2) suicide has already been "romanticized" (look it up, it's actually crazy how true this is) and making it "legal" would just increase suicide rates and destroy our society even more than

Honestly I think one big thing that would reduce suicide rates would be to allow fighting. Why? Because that way people who are bullied/attacked/abused (or their guardians) can actually confront the perpetrators (or their parents). In other words, bring back true accountability with real consequences.

Extremely complicated question. I'm conflicting on this question, on one hand I can see the wish for someone to end it all and the liberty, reasonably, to take the final decision. But that is just philosophy. In practice, I don't see much reason used in suicide, I see an extreme distress instead. And I follow you on this idea that distress can heal, in life, not always easily though, not for everyone. But then who is right and wrong here? Medicine has a moral stance, to save everyone at all costs, they are aligned to your proposal. But it is conflicting with the right to self-determination. Who should get priority?

I'm not able to solve this conflict it seems. Dilemma.

I would not stop someone who wanted to commit suicide. In my mind, they’ve already made up theirs by saying it’s not worth living. I’ve never lived their life so I cannot be the one lying saying ‘oh you have so much to love for, your family, friends, blah blah.” As if they didn’t eat those options before hand.

id rather not know entirely and just leave it with the memory of saying, something in that persons like hurt her/him so badly, they decided to end themselves.

Minds can be changed, usually suicide is a unhealthy mental state, they aren't rationalizing properly at the moment because of stress, as a human that's in a better state of mind you shouldn't just sit and watch, suicide has the same results as murder, it being inflicted by one self plays no difference to the results compared to it being inflicted by someone else, willingly or not "but he wants to die" isn't a justification, so shame shame shame on you 👉🏼

I know it’s very bad but what if you’re struggling and you’re about to be homeless you have no money left and you’re about to face the street one man alone on the streets no place to go no showers no restrooms no food no water no roof over your head nothing but hot sun and every where you go you get run off. Do you mean like the MAID program where they’re medically assisted or do you mean allowing people as in them ending themselves of their own free will. If it’s the MAID program I support it but only in specific cases like a terminally ill disease like cancer or ALS where you’ll only get worse.

I am not your contrarian. But I have seen people in agony from a terminal illness. They did pull the plug by opting for Hospice. Open fact. He was comforted with morphine. Closed secret. In truth, he was put down my morphine. We all knew it.
