Why is my 12 week old kitten throwing up often lately?

My 12 week old kitten threw up like 2-3 weeks ago it was a lot but a day after we took him to the vet he said nothings wrong he’s a great vet everyone loves him and a few days ago the kittens got their vaccines and the vet said they’re both good and to bring them in 3 weeks for booster shots and day before yesterday my kittens were on the bed and one of em the same one who’s throwing up got down on the floor and threw up under the bed I didn’t mind cleaned it up he was playing afterwards not looking like sick at all now he has this weird smell behind one of his ears and he threw up day before yesterday twice but today and yesterday and day before was quarter size white chunky puke sorry to gross u out but I thought maybe I’m over feeding them or it’s the tuna flavored food I did every thing and he’s still at it but very active throughout the day has someone had similar experience and should I take him to the vet thank u

If there's hair in the puke, those are hair balls, I hate to break it to you but the hairballs you see cats puke in movies aren't realistic, real hairballs are wet and come out in puke, if you are feeding it cat food the only thing it can be if the cat is healthy is allergies or the cat is too young and you are feeding it the wrong kind of food, buy kitten food, it legit says its for kittens, the food might be too much for the kittens small stomach so its puking it

Test the kitten food and see if you notice a difference

I do give him kitten food I’m like so careful with what they eat and drink I’m just worried that he’s sick cuz he’s active all day past three night every night he gets up pukes a quarter size white chunky vomit and acts normal so I don't know if I should take him to the vet thank u for your reply by the way appreciate you 😊

So how much quantity of food do you give them? It's also possible the ratio isn't right and it's eating more than it should, look up the measurements of how much your kittens should eat, maybe it has to do with that and no problem 🙂🤗

Could be just lots of hair, due to change to the winter fur.

Could be too fast eating, sometimes cats do this when they fear there isn't enough.

Could also be just weakend by the vaccine shot, which will go away pretty soon.

But unless its bloody and red there is not a reason to worry too much.

Cats throw up regularly. This is just what happens when you own a cat. Sometimes they eat their food too fast and that’s when you have to stop free feeding them. Other times (most times) it’s just hairballs that come from grooming. If the vomiting feels excessive, take them to the vet, but at this age throwing up once or twice a month is normal. If you notice it looks like coffee grounds, then take them to the vet because that means there’s bleeding.

And you’ve been feeding them tuna, is that fish colored red or white when you give it to them?

I stopped now but it was more like pinkish tuna in a can

Some kittens may have sensitivities to certain foods or ingredients, but better see the vet again just to play it safe.

sometimes cats get hairballs and need to puke them up. Listen to the vet.

But is it normal for the past three days he’s been waking up from sleep to puke up a quarter sized amount that’s chunky or should I just take him to vet thanks a lot for your answer as well I appreciate you 😊

cats do puke sometimes. My cats used to puke in the cellar.
