TL;DR At the bottom.
The title might sound kind of confusing, and probably is, I just didn't know how to describe it properly, especially with the limited characters in the title.
But either way, to properly explain what I mean, you have a certain opinion, the people around an opinion that is different than your own, you change your opinion to theirs because you wanna please them, and then suddenly they change their opinion back to the opinion you started out with in the first place, and you realized you changed your opinion for nothing.
For me, some of the most vivid examples of this sort of thing come from early childhood.
Like I remember around kindergarten or 1st grade my favorite color used to be blue, but my best friend who I was obsessed with at the time and liked to imitate had green as their favorite color, and so I changed my favorite color to green because of him. But one day he suddenly changed his favorite color to blue... and it was just like FUCK!!!
Or another one, around 2nd grade or 3rd grade, I had changed schools. I loved Spongebob from the beginning, but a lot of the kids at my old school said they hated Spongebob, so I began to hate Spongebob too. Then at my new school I was telling them about how much I hated Spongebob, but wait, the kids at the new school actually LIKED Spongebob... so again, I had changed my opinion for nothing... FUCK!!!
This type of thing definitely has happened to me as a teen and an adult, though those are the 2 most prominent examples. After those 2 examples from early childhood I did my best to prevent that sort of thing from happening ever again. Lol.
TL;DR If the title sounds confusing basically what I mean is say you have a certain opinion, the people around you have a different opinion, you change your opinion to their opinion just to please them, and then later on they changed their opinion to the opinion you had in the first place, and then you realized you changed your opinion for nothing.

It has probably happened, yes. Nothing striking comes to mind but I'm sure it's happened because one thing I don't like about myself is that I can go along with the opinion someone has without pushing back with my own when necessary, so they think I agree with them. And that's my fault, really!
Funny, because I'm 100% the same way, pretty much!
Usually it's because I'm afraid of confrontations or arguments. Some people can get really arrogant, defensive, and heated over their opinions, regardless if they're big or small.
If someone shares a piece of incorrect information I also don't correct them because some people hate being corrected and can't admit when they're wrong.
So yeah... the only time I'll push back with my opinions is if I'm talking to someone I'm close to who I already know who won't get really rude over discussions of different opinions.
Not really, I don't like changing my opinion.
Fair. I don't think anyone does. Lol.
