Are people from 1989 and 1996 the same generation?

I mean….. they both grew up in the 2000s cartoons and basically the same things accept that 1989 babies graduated from high school in 2007-2008 depending on their birthdays and 1996 babies graduated in 2014-2015.

Technically no. Everyone from ‘64-‘84 is gen x, everyone from ‘85-‘94 is millennials I believe, and everyone from ‘95-‘05 is gen z.

The idea that we have to categorize each other by the times in which we were born is both a weird kind of exclusion and a way to build community around the most inane part of existence. Humans are hierarchal thinkers so we act like this matters but it doesn’t
