Do you set the bar high for yourself?

Do I try to push myself to be better? Yes, I do but many people are all or nothing they set extremely high expectations that are not reasonable and if they don’t make it there they simply give up. Even if they do accomplish it they will always see something better or what they could have done better.
The first thing people need to see is their value just simply as a human being as well as the fact someone always will have it better and even the people who seemingly have it better probably compare themselves to someone else.
So setting the bar high is okay but people need to start with smaller steps. What can they focus on right now?
I have set the bar high and actually accomplished most of what I've wanted to. It's unfortunate that some can't reach it but not from lack of effort. This video was leaked of your little buddy coming home from his first "work out" at his local gym. I continue to encourage him!
No - I think it’s good to have standards and aim for them if we can achieve them. Obviously financially, nothing silly like becoming a millionaire, which is a long shot for most people even in high earning jobs.
In terms of my appearance, I change all I can, for the things I want to change, and I think that’s ok.
Can't reach it. I think @Circushowcowboy can relate.

I have to. I have a lot to do to be able to survive living in NY with prices the way they are. I work hard to save for today's needs as well as tomorrow's needs for retirement. To do both today takes discipline and if I could share my experience in saving for today and tomorrow it's worth it. As I hit my 40s seeing my retirement fund grow has helped my anxiety about worrying if I'll be ok when I'm old.
I have put away enough that I will never have to worry. I'm so thankful. I couldn't have done it without setting the bar high and not being hasty and wasteful. Thankfully I live good today too but sometimes I'm like man I wish I could just go buy that 100k car I've always wanted but I choose not to. It's not worth sacrificing my retirement over a car that's not going to return anything more than higher ownership costs.
I think I've always set the bar high, even decades ago when I was at University. Some subjects were hard to pass (some due to lack of interest on my part), but I always persevered. I think that once you start something, it would be foolish to quit half way.
The same applies to my professional and personal life. I think you should always aim high, but within the reach your own limitations.
I try not to push too hard these days , only with fitness and health is my goal.
I did set it high money wise ( previously ) to get to where I got I guess , that took a lot of sucking , a lot a creation , and a lot of investment.
These days , we say here " Sabai Sabai " .
https://www.youtube.com/embed/03xOU4xyYMoI absolutely set the bar high. I'm not satisfied with " just getting by". I have extremely high standards. I've had plenty of people telling me that I'm working too hard to meet my goals and I should drop the bar a few levels. I don't settle for bare minimum
If the bar is standards then yes I set it high and if the bar is goals then yes I set the bar even higher. I tell my kids to never stop learning.
@Abbycado what are some bars you have set for yourself?
Ambitions are significant part in life of a successful person but success depend often on ability to put the bar at right high. True estimation of own capabilities and value is the key to achieve what you want.
It doesn't always work out for me, but yes I do.

I always set a high bar, and continue to now that I’m older.
How am I supposed to soar like an eagle, when I'm surrounded by chicken?
With all my self confidence I herewith state that I don't have a ''bar'' to set for myself.
It's just... ''the slow ones are left behind'' :D
I kind of do... I set high goals. But if I do not achieve them I do not let it get me down too much. I strive for perfection but know its unobtainable.
No, I'm realistic about setting the bar, and I like to take it one step at a time.
By the way, it's not fair to some people who can't reach the bar even when it's set low ;)
He sets a straw on the floor.
Smart thinking XD
He can’t get any higher than that XD
I wonder if subconsciously, or otherwise 🫢, this question was targeted at someone. Hmm 🤔
Hmm, who knows, maybe it's just a coincidence 🤷
Purely coincidence.
No i can't. If I did, my son wouldn't be able to join me... right @Circushowcowboy
Absolutely. I hold myself to very high standards.
Yes a bit too high. Nobody can achieve perfection.
When it comes to accomplishing activities yes, I try.
In business I aim high. In playing I aim high. In my personal life I rarely try hard.
No, I have ADHD. I can't set the bar high. I have to set it just out of reach, and when I reach it. move it up just a bit more.
Yes yes yes too much high so even if I failed I will failed ahead of other's success Highs.😘
If you want to reach your goals you need to put target for that, otherwise life gonna be miserable for everyone..
Very high. My mom always said shoot for the stars that way if you fall you land on a cloud
I would rather aim high and miss than always aim low and hit
I do and sometimes that's a blessing while others not so much
It’s already too high
Shush it lol
