Girls, How old were you when you start to work for first time, also what did you bought for you with your first salary?

I was about 15 and a friend new a job at a newspaper delivery firm where we had to sort them and insert the magazines and leaflets by hand. Waa just a Saturday job and hard work but the money we earned we used to buy alcohol and go out to party!

Funny.. kids under 18 can't get away with that anymore.

I think it's harder with health and safety gone mad and regulations and insurance. I wanted my daughter to do work experience at my work place at 16 and they said no due to "insurance".
Back when I was young you could get little cash in hand jobs sweeping in a shop or newspaper rounds at like 11 or 12.
No longer! And they wonder why kids are lazy?

İnsurance is different issue but most of them want to earn money easy way, same like Tiktok, YouTube etc..

I think I was around 15 or so.
I honestly dont' remember what I used my first salary on. Probably just let it sit on my savings account, I loved seeing it get bigger with each month.

I started before 10… I was hungry so I found bottles and sold them… I earned enough to buy pickles.
my real job… 16 at the supermarket… I bought food for my family.
my real career…at 22/23… I help my family and replaced their mattresses.
