410 opinions shared on Education & Career topic. i've been playing violin since age 4 and first got dosh at age 7 but i played in professional orchestras and joined the union when i was 12 so that's when it counts. i think at that time it was around 200-something per 2½ hour session and there are a lot of ways that can go way up, whether you're recording or not, whether you're playing for movies & TV, how big the orchestra is, all sorts. My agent keeps track of all that to the penny. Surprisingly, one of the factors is not whether you're actually playing, so i can (and have done) literally sit there and do nothing for the whole time and still get paid the full amount

1 yFrom what I recall, my first job was selling grandma's Christmas and Easter candy so, I guess I was between 11 and 13. A few years later, I was cutting grass for a few of the neighbors.
My first job out of the house (in someone else's company) was putting labels on make-up bottles at my grandfather's girlfriend's daughter's store, Foxy Poxy. We (my brother & I) were only needed for 2 days.
Next was a job through Manpower working at a dept. store downtown collecting packages at various dept.'s and taking them to the shipping dept.. I did that for at least a month. It was only supposed to be 2 weeks but they held me over for 2 more. It was the first job I got after high school.00 Reply 3.5K opinions shared on Education & Career topic. I was mowing my neighbors lawn when I was 12 years old. He was a rich guy that owned the local Ford dealership. He had a big yard, several acres and it would take several days to get it mowed.
