Why is talking about pooping taboo?

Question

I was on the phone with a friend this morning and she was telling me about how her stomach hurt because she was embarrassed to tell her new boyfriend she had to poop and waited till she got home. Lmao they went on a coffee date and I scolded her because it was like a 3 hour date/chill at his house thing.

Why do people need to talk about it? There has to be a limit on what you’re willing to tell people most people don’t want to talk about peoples bathroom habits.

You should really stop telling people things unsolicited there are some things that people just don’t need to spew to the world. One being their sexual life, another being bodily functions, among other things like that.

Far as someone’s significant other goes I mean everyone does it so I don’t think that’s a huge deal. But telling random people? Gross.

Because, like nudity, we are conditioned, during childhood, to switch from total freedom in dealing with the topic to "stop talking about it now", or "you can't walk around naked anymore", a rule enforced and reinforced by parents, school and society in general

I think that is starting to change as that topic has become a lot more open. I don't openly do it but everyone knows everybody does it and it's natural. I don't mind talking about it to males or females. Why is peeing accepted and people tell others they are doing it and even have no problem doing it in front of the opposite sex.

Well it is not a pleasant thing to have a conversation over, but why not just excuse yourself to go to the bathroom without a complete explanation! No embarrassment with that.

I never understood it. Had a lot of that as teacher that the girls n some guys would hold it ALL DAY cuz "I can only poop at home". If you're used to a bidet I get it. Kinda. But otherwise weird.

Well if you have a small place it can kind of ruin the mood if the bathroom isn't well-ventilated. My aunt's house had the only bathroom right off the kitchen, which could be kind of gross sometimes.
