This was a year ago but I almost got in a bar fight over my friends gfs. We all work together and it was Friday and figured why not go get some booze. These guys were fine at first but then they started becoming more flirty and it was making me mad because those are my friends girlfriends. The girlfriends weren't into it by the way and they told them they have boyfriends.
I told one of the guys that he better watch his boy. Definitely wasn't a good choice of words but that's what came out. It got heated after that and I was ready to fight but I realized we're in a state where laws are very strict. My friend went to prison for a bar fight. I probably would've lost. The guy was short but stocky. I'm 6ft 200lbs. He was shorter but around the same pounds but I wouldve felt better losing than walking away.
Basically I still feel bad I didn't do anything. I wanted too so bad but even in my drunken state myself was like this is a bad idea. Made it worse when the girls walked me outside to leave the little chode started yelling do something pussy. I hit my dashboard so many times I thought i broke my hand.
Did I do the right thing? Thank you for your answers
Tltr: My friends gfs were being hit on and it pissed me off so I said something then almost got in a fight. I walked away because of the strict laws

You did the wrong thing by going to a bar to get drunk in the first place. Why is there always a need to get intoxicated? Why not just go home and stay out of trouble?
All of you guys knew very well that this scenario was eventually going to happen since you knew that you would drink beyond reason and that the one or the other would start hitting on those women yet you still went there in full knowledge of the possible consequences. Yes, you were absolutely wrong for drinking alcohol but you were also right for pulling away from a fight. Your self-esteem took a beating because now, you may be seen as a coward but hey, that is better than to have been arrested and ended with a prison sentence and a criminal record.
Im definitely not a coward. If it was anywhere else I wouldve fought
