So I was declined a security role because of my background. Now what?

I have a feeling I will struggle to obtain any public-facing role. I normally work in tech, and the joh market in my industry has been decimated. I am trying to figure out what else to pursue. I was going to take on a security guard part time role in the meantime, but my candidacy was denied due to my past stalking conviction dating back 9 years ago.

You might be able to get the conviction expunged from your record.

Otherwise, you could keep try working in warehouses; I really enjoyed my job at UPS. It would allow you to continue looking for other online tech work.

I am worried. I thought tech was my golden ticket to success, but I am now having to rethink what I can be eligible to work.

I'm sorry, man... A lot of the people I know in tech are in the same position. For a long time, tech was the golden ticket. It really seems like the job market just collapsed on you guys' heads.

This might be a situation where who you know if more important than what you know. Figuring out the secrets to networking could be well worth your while.
