I am, the same in terms of my fundamental views and values. The essence of who I am hasn't changed all that much. My morals all that stuff, are essentially the same.
I'm definitely more jaded and weatherworn and not as optimistic. I'm not as naive. The thing I always think about when I remember my early-mid teens is how reckless I was. I ended up in a lot of dangerous situations; and didn't appreciate just how dangerous at the time.
I'm certainly more practical in my thinking.
Overall though, the essence fo who I am has stayed the same. What I believe; right and wrong; the kind of people I want as friends; and all the most important bits are the same. I'm just bigger, older, wiser and a little more jaded. Otherwise, I haven't changed all that much.

Well, I guess during teens it's all about the high of being in risk and trying out all the thrilling stuff, I don't know but I may do reckless stuff in college cuz I grew up in a more strict household where my teenage self can't burst out haha, but I'll try not to. Cuz those who don't learn from history are bound to repeat it.
Well, do you see those risky teenage experiences as mistakes of happy learnings? Are they special to you or you regret doing them?

I don't go to the gym, have kids or own a dog. Nevertheless this isn't a bad description at all! There's something to it. I do try and be a nice guy and to be non-thretening, but if a situation calls for it, I'll "crush anyone." I hope you know I'll be telling people this forever (that this girls said...). Wow I laughed really hard at that.
Have fun in college, but don't go too crazy. The basics that your strict parents taught you should still be something you carry though. They may be too strict, but what they were trying to teach you (the values, morals, etc) are important, and you do want to probably keep most of it.
Those risks weren't learning experiences. Some risks can be learnng experiences. I'm sure I have some of those too. Many risk teenagers take simply come from not knowing better. You don't realize just how vulnerable you are, as a person. A lot of situations where somebody could have (by all rights should have) been robed, stabbed or arrested. (not when I was 13 more like 15-19)
When you're like 13 you don't don't think about the physical danger doing typical young teenager stupidness. The stuff kids (boys especially) do for fun specifically because it's dangerous. You aren't thinking about spending the rest of your life in a wheelchair if you don't make-the-jump. You just jump after the kid who jumped before you. You don't realize how vulnerable you are.
Many of the risks teenagers take are just reckless to the point of stupid. The only thing you learn is how lucky you are that things didn't go another way when you took those dumb risks.
Have fun at college. But don't do anything (too) dumb. 🙂

Yup, teenagers can be dumb. I remember once when I was in my coaching centre on a monsoon Sunday with dark clouds in afternoon and had few bucks with me, I went to the nearby McDonald's without any of my friends along and obviously I didn't say my parents that. But I think that was unnecessary because the whole time I wasn't able to enjoy my meal or something because all I was thinking about was what if my parents come to coaching centre to pick me and I'm not there and then this weird dude who maybe followed me into McDonald's didn't make things better. So I played a random video of my cousin in my tab and pretended that we're on a video call, that did help.
It just made a memory, not necessarily a good one but something I can later on share with other people to educate them.
Obviously I won't be going around doing drugs or going all wonks in college, maybe sneak out of the dorm to the garden nearby for a stroll with my roommate or sneak in a kettle to make ramen or go to an adventure filled trip with my friends or ditch few classes to go to a bookstore or maybe a library, so that I can at least have stories to pass on to my future kids.
Oh wow... that McDonald's story is a good example of the kind of risk I was talking about.
It could have gone very differently. As a teenager, you're able to not think too hard about what might have happened or how vulnerable you were that night. It's certainly good to take the lesson from an experience like that. I predict the memory of that night becomes scarier looking back on it the older you get. It's that change in how you see it that is different between young me and now. You'll see...
Otherwise, I'm not too worried about you. You sound like a good kid. Sneaking out of the dorm for a midnight stroll... or a contraband kettle for Raman.

Thankfully it wasn't night, it was afternoon 1 pm. And yeah, it keeps getting scary more that I think of it. I wish world was a safer place for everyone to just stroll around whenever and wherever they liked.

Complete opposites almost as a kid which is funny to me cause I just recently turned 18 (Ik my age on her says 20 something I can’t change it) anyways as a kid 6-13 I was very emotional mainly angry and I fought a lot at home not so much at school since I wasn’t as annoyed and I slept in school a good bit although I did fight a few times I was mainly only fighting because I didn’t know how to express emotions.
Nowadays I’m really chill I had a complete 180 in my emotions went from being very emotional to being a constant neutral state which I can only best describe it as constant boredom. I’m also omniverted now which is extroverted and introverted depending on the situation, people, and my mood although I usually lean introverted most of the time.

No. I think it was more a combination of things that naturally changed me over time. Growing up and experiencing loss shifted my perspective especially when my best friend died of suicide I think that was the time I started changing. Plus, getting more into books and movies, and connecting with someone who just understood me in a way since she was just like me in a lot of aspects. I also should have explained the emotion part better it's not that I don't feel them it's more that I feel them on a lesser scale than the average person.
I know right, death somehow does something that just shakes up your whole world. After my best friend died due to blood cancer and grandpa due to diabete, both of them within less than a month, I became more vulnerable to emotions and am more sympathetic. I guess trauma just tones every rage down or sharpens it, depending on the person.
My early teens, I was arrogant as hell. At 14, I was convinced I knew everything about how the world worked, that I could get a job and live on my own if I wanted to. I thought everyone was shallow, hated each other, that peace could never be a reality on any level.
Now, 18 years later, I’m a completely different person. I know how complex people are, I’m capable of a much deeper level of understanding, I know now that I know nothing and all I can do is learn while I’m still here in an effort to make things better, I’m in a place of spiritual peace and my expectations for the world and my life have completely shifted.
That sounds like a good shift! I think everyone has that phase where they think they know everything. But those who continue to have that phase during adulthood are the most annoying creatures known to mankind so I'm glad how you evolved into a better and more humble person.
Early teens is when I gained my confidence. Time has given me the opportunity to become more open minded, calmer, more capable at a lot of things, and the experience to know I don't know everything and can always learn more. I can learn something from pretty much anyone I meet and I try to do that. But I would say my core self is the same, just a more mature version.
That's how it should be- essense of a person being same but more mature as they grow up. This is nice.

I don't look much different (same shape in spite of it being 4 decades ago) and like the same music but I am perhaps more jaded now about things. Wiser for sure and maybe less passionate about things because I've battled certain causes against the tide and realised there's no telling many people.

I lost my ability to feel much of anything. I don't feel hope. I don't feel real joy. All I have are memories of them to copy from.
I think it's the opposite for me so far, I wasn't really sympathetic during my childhood and till my early teens but when I lost my best friend to blood cancer I started feeling emotions more deeply. Like I started crying to certain movies I wouldn't have cried to before, I feel things more deeply which is a good thing because I'm very happy when I'm happy but a bad thing as well because I may act on my feelings and not logic. I wonder how things change when one comes to adulthood.

Ohh very very different. I was a rebellious idiot in my teens. Did not understand jack shit about most things. It was the 90s. My true wisdom came in my late 30s. Better late than never. :-)
