I guess it really depends on what independent really means. I will give you a example out of my own experiences..

I have nothing against an independent woman, maybe I actually prefer to have one.

I have had an short term relationship with a independent woman in the past but at some point I noticed her car was very low on oil because of the sound the car was starting to make so I wanted to help her putting fresh oil into the car because we needed to get up early that following morning. I didn't want any of u to have to do that early in the morning.

She refused to let me do that because she said " she was an independent woman and she needed no help with maintaining her car, especially not from a guy". I didn't Wanne argue with her that evening but it did hurt my feelings somewhat. I simply don't understand why she wouldn't accept my offer to help her out.

The next morning it really pissed me off because we woke up very late and where in a hurry. We where both all stressed out. But by the time we where ready to go... She realized the car was in serious need of oil.

She actually had the nerves to ask me if I wanted to help her throwing some new oil in.

But I refused to do that and told her she didn't want me to do it yesterday so she could do it herself now she was a independent woman 🤷🏼‍♂️

Me saying that to her was the reason she broke up with me. But I'm glad she did

There are so many different types of independent because in everyone's own way there only level of who they are and there Scenario we are all independent I guess until we are not

For my self Im Independent until im not... if something needs to be done i do it. I pay my way I take care of myself if I need something or want something I work for it . I have my own things I would rather lead then follow

But in all honesty i'm just me. Everybody has their own idea of being independent. So if people are happy and have that title. That's cool so I guess I don't know Because everybody looks at it different

There are studies, that women who earn more than their husbands (therefore are more independent) are more frequently cheated on by their husbands. Contrary to common belief, a dependent woman, who earns less than SO, has statistically more stable marriage and her husband is less probable to cheat on her.

Independent to a degree where she can bring in something that adds to OUR life instead of being a complete burden.

I have to say I have been proud of being able to fully support my wife and her career as well as moving countries lifestyle choices even though she admits she could never do the same for me and that is fine. Now that I am doing that myself it's made me realise that her dependence did affect my freedoms to a degree and I should not begrudge it.

Nobody is independent. We all depend on the people around me. Girls who call themselves "independent" are either childish or insufferable Karen's. What they call "independent" is what I call being a basic adult. Nothing special to it. I expect that from the people my age.

I think she should be emotionally independent as woman but should know that for some things she needs a man or boyfriend.
For example in winter for warming her hands. Or for opening bottles. And of course for s@xual things too. The most important thing in a woman is that she puts her female dignity higher than the boyfriend's well being.

I married an independent woman, a woman who has her own mind, who is not swayed into thinking like other people even when they try to persuade her.

That was the main reason I married her.

25 years later I still respect her but intimacy has fallen away. I no longer wish to spend time with her, go on holidays with her. Could be that's unrelated.

But there are men who want to their women to be independent, and that’s okay. But some men are just being pussy, by want to their woman to be independent in financial aspects, but still act and give them traditional benefits.
