That is hilarious! That's not an under bed shotgun mount. That's redneck engineering using two $1.50 screw in storage hooks from Home Depot.
So let me get this right. A guy has entered your house a 3:00 AM. You're deep in REM sleep. He's jacked on coke and adrenaline with a weapon in his hand. You hear a noise and immediately roll out of bed fully awake, hit the floor, reach for your shotgun under the bed in complete darkness, pop up to your knees, and shoot the bad guy.
The only trouble is that the bad guy put 2 rounds in your chest before you even rolled out of bed.
Or... little Johnny wasn't feeling well and came to tell mommy and daddy. Only little Johnny is now splattered all over your bedroom wall.
Pure genius from dumb people who live in fear of everything.
No. I don't even lock my doors at night. Heck, when the weather's nice I don't even close my doors half the time. I bet it's been at least a month since my back door has been fully closed.
But if you DO want a home defense weapon, a shotgun mounted under the bed like that is a good idea. Shotguns are great for defense, and it's handy.
No I would not! Have a Browning 9mm in night stand next to me!
Nah. We are already well covered in that department.

Impractical and ungainly to reach.
My Escort Bulltac SA.410 Gauge Bullpup Semi-Auto Shotgun is hanging on a hook on the wall beside my bedroom door. My wife has has added a stylish bouquet if plastic flowers in the barrel. The first round may not stop DeAndre and the Boyz, but I have 4 more for them.
Would it not be easier to skip that girlish bedroom ado, and
just sleep in the turret of your battle tank that's parking on your drive way?
No I've kids and its a good way to get a gun stolen. there's all sorts hidden safes and gun cupboards you can get now that makes guns easily available for hom defence.
No one in Europe carries a gun on the streets or has a gun in their house. They're illegal anyway. But that would be a different debate alltogether.
Yes in the uk you aren't allowed any sort of weapon for home defence not even a cricket bat. Its tricky as if you keep a cricket bat or hockey stick fof home defence and use it could be premeditated assault or murder with a weapon but if you have the cricket or hockey stick there because you actually play those sports and have a ball fof them you might get away with it. Im sure the same applies with a hunting knife and kitchen knife.
Our bed has a metal frame and a skirt that hangs from the mattress to the floor, so a rack under our bed would be impractical. My Sig P-220 is in the drawer right next to my bed.
I have my M1A on the wall beside my bed and a 1911 on my headboard
Thankfully, there is no need here.
Exactly. I do and you don’t. So don’t even try to mansplain my own country to me. I have never seen or heard anyone use a gun here, why would I need one?
I don’t know who „they“ are, but rest assured that I also never seen anyone use a knife here and the only anecdote I heard from acquaintances was a literal punk in rotten Berlin pulling a knife for being lectured about not smoking in the train.
That female personal was given that advice so they would not be sued by litigious drama queens. How do I know? Because we had an civilian U. S. Army employee living in our office building who showed up on our doorstep with a nice whiskey bottle and talked about all sorts of paranoid scenarios, to inform him if people asked about him etc etc. It was as baffling as it was pitiful.
But let me guess: Nothing ever happened, right? Not to you, not to this female personnel, not to anybody you knew, correct?
Those are just two hooks five bucks
True. Better make it three hooks :)
