Iām only a medium-ok swimmer, haha, so Iām more of a shins-deep guy.
And now, our seal population is flourishing again because they outlawed hunting them a few decades ago, and theyāve reboundedā¦. and that brought more sharks.
So now when I go to my local beaches, Iām greeted by a huge sign at the entrance, warning me to āBe Shark Smartā, with a big scary picture of a Great White, and that kind of saps the positive beach vibes😱

🎶Who sucked ouuutttttt the FEEEEELIIIIINNNNā?🎶😒
During Covid, I went to a beach at the very tip of Cape Cod, and it was an unseasonably warm November day. I was even wearing shorts, so I was walking shins-deep in the water, since it wasnāt freezing. There were a bunch of seals just lounging in the water, and my Caucasian genetics kicked in and told me to approach these wild animals, lmfao.
They were just casually cruising away further down the shoreline and maintaining our distance. Then I remembered the video I saw from this beach a couple years beforeā¦
Thaaaatttttās a little too close for comfort. And RIP seal🫡
And then this video, same beachā¦. even worseā¦
Thatās legit not much deeper than I was walking😱😱😱

These things are EVERYWHERE now, according to this professional scienticianologist🤓 So I might be retired from the ocean, lmfao
PS: your new PFPā¦. are you modeling professionally now, orrrrrā¦?🤩
"There were a bunch of seals just lounging in the water, and my Caucasian genetics kicked in and told me to approach these wild animals, lmfao."
I sooo needed this laugh, you don't even know. We gotta meet one day so you can hear how ugly you make me laugh.
I like that song by the way, "who sucked out the feeling?" I listened to the entire song lol.
PS: im a model for my Samsung galaxy š
A freelance photographer tried to take pics but I refuse to pay for pics of myself hahaha
Lmao, happy to help. And now I donāt know how Iād be able to live WITHOUT seeing/hearing you ugly-laughšš¹
Glad you liked the song! Itās part of this subgenre that I donāt really know what to call besides āWhiteboys probably in cargo pants and/or bucket hats circa 1995-2000ā, lmao. Like Teenage Dirtbagš

I had to zoom in, but I see it, haha. No Zombie Hands nail polish? š§āāļøš
F that, they should be paying you to let them photograph you, lookinā all dazzlināšš¶
I'm a swimmer. I like to get wet all over.
I started out in my neighbor's built-in pool when I was really young.
In my early teens, I learned how to body surf and then belly board.
I started learning to surf when I was 15. That was before ankle tethers, so if you lost your board, you had to swim to retrieve it.
I've swum in lakes lots of times, too. And I have dived off of cliffs.
I took a canoeing class at community college. To qualify to take the class, you had to swim the length of their Olympic-size pool and back fully clothed with shoes and all. I kind of scoffed and thought "No big deal". So I jumped in and swam across, but the clothes created a lot of drag and I was winded by the time I headed back. In about the middle, I rolled onto my back and floated to catch my breath.
I thought the coach would fail me for cheating. But as it turned out, he just wanted to make sure that people knew how not to drown. I passed the test.
I've done the same thing in the ocean and lakes, too, when I got tired.
Thank you for sharing...
You reminded me of when I was a kid at the neighborhood public pool. In order to be allowed to dive off the diving board into the deep part of the pool... we had to be able to swim across the pool and back.
I never made the attempt lol... but I would just watch my dad doing flips off of the diving board. Every time it was his turn to dive, everyone would pay attention haha... he was pretty good.

I always swim deep because there's so much to see.

And I took all the pictures :)
It's been a long time since I've swum. When I have swum I went all in. Usually I was diving off a cliff or going off a rope swing. In the ocean I'd be out far enough to do some body surfing or something.
If I'm less that waist deep, I'm probably just crossing a river to get to the other side. Or I'm out in the middle of the river fishing.
I was pretty adventurous but a bad swimmer. I could get by swimming, but I did a lot of stuff I really shouldn't have been doing. Young and stupid I guess. Almost all my friends were better swimmers than I was.
There is a rope swing near me that I want to do again. It's tied to a huge tree hanging over the river. It's probably stupid to try it at my age and being out of shape, but I want to do it. I'll only do it if someone is with me though. When I was younger I would have done it alone, but not now.
In practice, when I look at a beach scene around me, then I'm more outside of water than inside yep. Sometimes for a very dumb and practical reason: If we're both swimming, who is gonna watch our phone and stuff laying on sand?
Honestly, thinking rationally, I don't think anyone would really attempt to steal stuff, but... You know, I have this little voice telling me to not leave stuff unmonitored lol. That's engraved from living in the city
I used to be a competitive swimmer and I also love the deep ocean.
However, I also appreciate the waves kissing my feet.
Primarily, I always qualified for the butterfly events.
Secondarily, the backstroke was another favorite.
I'm often at the beach but rarely go really swim. I go in the cool down or maybe have some fun with friends so it's usually just as far as I can reach the ground. The sun feels better on the skin when you come out of the fresh water
Thanks. It's from white fox
I am not much of a fan of swimming in the ocean. I prefer lakes, rivers, and swimming pools.
I like swimming until I remember it's a place where fish and other aquatic animals poop. I'm hoping to learn surfing soon in the Atlantic, so wetsuits and goggles are my go to gear I think
Oh i swim everywhere. I snorkel, kayak, I am a rescue diver. I have swim fins and scuba fins. I have swim, snorkel, and scuba snorkels.
A funny event. I dont like to swim in a dirty swimming pool but actually swim in rivers, lakes and oceans regularly which have sand dirt rocks and algae everywhere.
@7Phoenix7 I've been down to a little more than 100 feet, at Catalina island. Quite an experience.
@7Phoenix7 I have to say there are many, but my favorite is Strand Beach, in Dana Point.
Depends on how strong the tide is. I love to get in there.
Chest deep is perfect. I can actually swim, and i can touch bottom if i get tired.
I'm the person who you won't even see on the sand. I'm sitting at a restaurant at the beach instead. I'm honestly scared of the sea.
I don't like sand :(
I can swim, but if some waves carry me off, I'm probably a goner.
Since I don't know how to swim there's a lot of kissin' going on with me and the waves.
I just walk in the water a little bit, but I really donāt go in the ocean especially because of those are under currents and Iām not the greatest swimmer
Oh I love being deep in the water and swimming.
ok I donāt really have to go all that far for it to be deep to me but you know what I mean
Have to beat her to the punch sometimes lols
I'm the latter, unless I'm with someone trying to their fears, then I'll walk them in deep to support them
I'm more of a forest person than an ocean person, but I'm a pretty strong swimmer and am glad to hold onto someone as we walk out a little further than they're comfortable with alone
If we're ever actually nearby one another I'll gladly accompany you for both
When we live on opposite ends of the country finding a time to adventure together requires patience, but would absolutely be worth it āŗļø
I'm not a fan of swimming in the ocean, so I'd rather let the waves kiss my feet.
Don't like the salt water, or the fact that I can't see what is below me, whether it be an urchin, jellyfish, shark, etc.
For waves to kiss my feet, I'd need more than one.
I like to swim. My prosthetic allows this now so I swim deep, although wearing an anchor gets tiring quickly..
I feel safer when my feet can touch the bottom.
Hmmm I don't even try swimming anymore after some drowning bad experience
Literally or metaphorically? The answer is both depending on the context! I love the water's edge and am told I am deeply intense.
I'm more of the latter too ;)
Hahaha lol
I don't know why but I'm scared of the sea.. always afraid i might get stuck or drown 😅
Lol I have not swam since I was probably hmm 8-10 I think lol but from what I remember I just swam on the surface normally.
Depends on the water temperature, the air temperature and if I want a swim workout.
Oh i love to dive... and dive as deep as possible...
At times I enjoy walking the beach and letting the waves wash over my feet. But when I go to the beach Iām going in deeper and playing in the waves or swimming farther out
Mostly feet. Standing at sea level with nothing but earth & sky is transcendental but...
Body surfing & paddle boarding are also 🔥🔥🔥
I like to get over my head and tossed and turned by the waves :)
I like to dive in head first and swim with the fishies.
I love to swim, however, water (pool, lake, ocean - it doesn't matter) is not kind to my sinuses- at ALL. I have to be content to sit and let the waves cool my feet, or just look for colorful beach/sea glass.
The deeper the better. Been down 60 to 75 feet below the waves.
I like to go deep if you know what I mean 😏😂
I haven't swam since 1999.
I don't drive much. It's hard for me to drive.
Learning disability, my slow brain, and due to my location, it is too much of a hassle to get in the car and go some where.
Both. Depends on my mood
neither, can not swim
I scuba dive... So as deep as I can go.
The deeper the better
Can not swim deep
Depends how cold the Lake is😉
I'm more of a paddler
Swims deep
Yes.
