What do you think about TikTok trends?

Doesn't really matter about the trend whether it be dancing, singing, acting stupid in public. Whatever it is.

Personally, I find them to be dumb, but I realize I am also older, so I might be out of the loop on some of these things. Maybe there are some you like. Maybe you don't use TikTok at all. Just wondering what you think.

“Trends” used to be an organic happenstance of the internet.

Kinda like the ice bucket challenge or the harlem shake or the one where people pretend that time has sfou.

But TikTok has made the whole thing industrialized and controlled (just like China in a way)
Trends are now forced and convoluted and always on a timer

I find that sad and downright gross

But then again, I too am getting older, so maybe it’s just not our thing anymore

I believe they are two versions of TikTok , two versions of Instagram as well, or two versions of any other worldwide platform possibly. There would be one version that is the pop one we hear about, which is usually horrendously shallow and, as a consequence, depressing for me. And there would be the one where people find some unusual content, due to how algorithm selects information. I have no free time left to either delve into TikTok or create content there so I wouldn't know what's trending. I just know what my network sometimes repost on other channels

They’re trends. It’s reflective of society, I personally find them fascinating. Like the labubu thing, we’re making a turn back to consumerism and labubus mark that very clearly, which is interesting considering this usually happens in times of economic flourishing but according to the hemline index, we’re crashing. It’s all a matter of perspective and everything is relative.

I've never been on TikTok and I have no plans to change that.

The TikTok app steals ALL of your data - and I mean ALL, it even monitors your clipboard so that anything you cut and paste gets sent back to the CCP. It also intentionally puts people into doom spirals to poison your brain. It makes Google and Facebook look angelic and completely uninterested in your data by comparison.

What show up in your TikTok account is based on searching engine. So if your FYP is full of bullshit or stupid stuff it’s because that what’s you interested to.

I have TikTok account and never posted any trend. And what show up in my FYP ate just exercise, gym, cooking, TV shows or Korean drama or Chinese movies.

I do not have tik tok or what it. I see a lot of people on youtube reacting to tik toks. Usually women recording themselves in their cars, angry, crying, sarcastic talking about how awful men are.

I do not know how many types of genre they have.
