To other AI like Google Diffusion 2.5, Claude 4 or even deepseek? Yes. Chatgpt is pretty dumb. Although some of its more premium models hold up.

Compared to your average person? Nope. AI has reached the rough equivalent of 130 IQ in the way it now composes its answers. That ks for chatgpt. Google's diffusion is a full standard deviation above that.

Which means that AI is already driving much of the world's serious research.
That said it isn't intelligent so much as intelligently designed. But we also have developed AI faster than we hahe developed our understanding of it. So honestly? Even AI researchers barely knows how it actually works now.

AI can't actually think. It just checks a library and combines clues.

However the current better AI, sugh as Claude4 are already averaging an IQ level equivalent of 145. This is without giving them any extra for how much faster they are (which is arguably one of the most important things for IQ).

By the metrics we as humans use, if we ignore the part where AI literally can't think, they are now performing at entry-genius levels. That is from a year or two ago when they were struggling to break the 120 mark.

It is very, very likely they will reach 160 within six more months. And beyond that we can't measure it anyway.

Basically right now AI is, ignoring no ability to think, alreadysmarter than 99.86% of the population. Now while I get to lord intelligent superiority over AI for another few months that is not a privilege I will be able to keep. And neither will you, even if you are among the exceedingly few at 160.
