What are your plans for the Labor Day weekend? Do you actually have labor day off?

I have a 3 day Labor Day weekend!!!

I do not have any time off on Monday at my job (not critical)

I work a critical job, so I would never have Labor Day off

I chose to work on Labor Day for overtime or just because

I have rotating shifts so unfortunately, I'm scheduled in this week. However, my company pays me overtime on top of regular rates, so I'm not that bothered by it.

Would I have enjoyed a long weekend? Sure. But am I looking forward to making a four figure income for a single day and pretty much doing nothing for it? Absolutely.

I also volunteer every year to work the shift on Christmas day. My family does Christmas at midnight so I don't miss anything family related and they pay me 3x rate + overtime which means I get give the best presents.

Not bad at all! I was talking to a lady at a pharmacy on Christmas day who was like, I HATE my family, and I get paid time and a half, you kidding, best day ever. I bought her a soda and a chocolate bar, lol!

I'm retired... every day is a day off for me. 😃

When I was working, Labor Day was officially a day off. I often worked at a customer site and members of our team took turns working holidays, since we had to support our customer's equipment 24/7, if needed; it was voluntary. So, I occasionally worked Labor Day and other holidays. When we did that, we just took off another day during the week to make up for it, and received regular pay for it.

I used to work a schedule where in the entire building, there were only like 15 of us who worked Mondays as the building was closed to the public, and of course Labor Day being a Monday, we'd still work, but honestly some of the best times. Music up loud, ordering in or going out to lunch, the worst part of the staff off....yup!!!! I relate.

Unfortunately we can't have the music up loud lol. I work as a health care aide. But I’ve completed most of my evening duties for my wrinklies so now I’m just chilling and have a headphone in.

Oh no. I came to stay with my parents for the holiday weekend. Got in Thursday night. My dad tested positive for Covid Friday morning! I've been quarantined alone in a guest room ever since ordering in food so as to avoid contact because I am not sick. Tons of BBQ, dessert, drinks everything had to go in their freezer as they are too sick and I'm trying to avoid getting sick. I wish you guys a speedy recovery.
