BE HONEST!! Do you know the correct setting for ceiling fans in winter & summer? Do you have a preference (air down vs circulate)? Does 😴 matter?

LOL, my house has 18 foot ceilings on the 1st floor. Good luck pushing the hot air down down in winter. There's only one fan on the first floor (family room). But all 4 bedrooms have fans and they are great but mostly not needed with a forced hot air system and central AC.

since hot air rises you want to draw up the cooler air from the floor in the summer and in the winter push the warmer air near the ceiling and push it down.

Hot air rises and cool air is heavier so it comes down. You want to keep the warm air up there so you circulate up in the summer, down in the winter to bring the warmer air down. I don't use my ceiling fans at all except on occasion.

We have an oscillating bedroom fan with a timer. It comes on and turns off automatically at the same times each night.
