If you could bring back someone who has died who would it be?

A former girlfriend named Petra.
I had girlfriends from the time I was 16. But I met Petra when I was 36 and she was 30. We lived together for two years. She was the first woman I loved with all my heart. She loved me, too.
As it turned out, we could not have made it as life-long partners and wound up separating even though we still loved each other. It's complicated.
For months, I almost couldn't bear life without her. It took me over a year to pull myself together and move on.
She eventually moved out of state to be with her teen aged son and her mother.
I got married to a wonderful woman when I was 40 and we've been happily married for 29 years now.
About 18 years after we separated, Petra found me on Facebook and we even spoke a few times on the phone. The sound of her voice went straight to my heart. I was overjoyed to know what she was up to and that she was happy and healthy.
She had always been extremely bright, but the things she posted on Facebook were enlightened.
I still deeply loved and admired her. She was extraordinary. She had taught me so much. I will always be grateful. It was enough to be her friend.
About 5 years later, I read that she had died from a sudden medical problem at the age of 55. I was devastated.
I wish she was still alive and illuminating the world. She died way too young and didn't get to achieve the dreams she had for retirement.
I would love to be able to talk to her again, hear her voice, be her friend, and know what she was up to.
I think if you brought me back from paradise I would be pissed. We are all scared of the unknown and think that being alive is a better state. I might not be so. I was only there for approximately 45 seconds but I was extraordinarily happy while i was there. Just sayin.

@Staximus I have considered that, possibly not dead yet.
I believe people can "die" for some seconds, and even minutes. There are cases about these. They are called near-death experiences, I'm sure you've heard of them. Can you describe what you saw? I know there are many naysayers here but I believe this can happen, and a doctor has written a book about it.
I would like to bring back my older brother. I miss him very much. He was my favorite sibling, despite our sometimes difference of opinion. He was funny (weird sense of humor), a good story teller, and a lot of fun. We talked about films we used to like, places we had been to, family stories, and we both liked art. He was just a generally good person. If I could bring him back, I would have him visit me here. The year he died, I had gotten knee surgery that summer and I couldn't have him over when he asked. :(
I wonder why this is showing up as anonymous. I have never answered anonymously. --Amy10223
Assuming they would be fine and not a zombie or upset about being removed from the realm of the dead, my stepdad. His death was very sudden and hard on all of us. I think it would be nice for him to come back and celebrate his wedding anniversary to my mom. He died before they could celebrate their first one.

Charlie Kirk. Then I'd show him the video of his shooting death. Then he'd take back the dumbfuck thing he said about gun violence and maybe convince the MAGA cult that we need strict gun control laws in the USA.
Charlie Kirk said of gun deaths on April 5, 2023, "I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights."
Damn.
That's surprisingly wholesome for a leftist... But I bet You He would not take back anything. He knew He was a target for a long time. You don't go back on Your ideals just because someone could kill You for them.
@CalmUntilAbused I am a centrist, not a leftist. And his "ideals" were based on ignorance.
@supercutebutt I'm sorry, I guess I allowed myself to guess Your political affiliation based on Your comments about then-presidential candidate Donald Trump. Now, those definitely did not sound "centrist". That's also why I was surprised by the sudden wholesomeness of Your take. I suppose Your comments about Donald Trump were the ones out of the centrist line. Also, since You brought it up, I have to respectfully disagree with You - Charlie Kirk's ideals were based on logic and cold-blooded analysis of both domestic and foreign case studies on the social cost of disarmament of a country's citizens. Given what happened in every single totalitarian country, where the citizens were first disarmed, then herded like mindless cattle and frequently murdered in cold blood at the leader's whim, as well as all the hints of totalitarianism on behalf of the Demo (n) crats in the USA, He decided that prevention of these scenarios is worth all those gun deaths. Therefore, I don't think seeing His own death would change His take on it even a little bit.
@CalmUntilAbused Donald Trump is a corrupt idiot and Charlie Jerk was a bigot who was the opposite of logical. He talked to an invisible man. Furthermore, he never even understood the message of that invisible man.
@supercutebutt You know, that might be the wildest take I've heard on God. Usually people either claim they understand His message or claim He does not exist. You, on the other hand, imply He does not exist (with Your comment about talking to an "invisible man" being "the opposite of logical"), but also that You understand His message better than an actual believer. How do those two takes make sense together? If You've never talked to "an invisible man" (if You have ever talked to Him, I very much doubt You'd call Him "am invisible man"), how do You know what his message is?
"an invisible man"*
@CalmUntilAbused The message was written down in a book. It was written down a long time ago by wise people who understood humans are selfish and that they need rules to make and maintain a functioning society. The Golden Rule is all you need to know. MAGA is the opposite. They twisted love thy neighbor into screw thy neighbor. Then they pretend they are good people. And you eat up this hypocricy with a greedy spoon.
Queen Elizabeth II, our current monarch is a bit of a knobhead imho,,,
She had an almost inhuman reach over everything. No idea how she did it. Made for the job.
My friend's dad that recently passed. I had met him quite a few times and he did light up a room, I also know how much he meant to my friend. He died unexpectedly and way to young.
I think I would grab someone out of the deepest regions of hell. Attila, Genghis Khan or Arminius. We have bring an empire onto knees again

My dad’s brother. I never knew him but he died from cancer in 1995 at the age of 35 which is before I was born but I know my dad is deeply saddened by his death and misses him badly.
My oldest brother I lost him 19 months ago. He died suddenly without warning. He was only 69. I didn't realize how much time I spent with him till he was gone.

Dogs are no different than actual family members. So trust me… it will hurt. Especially if the dog is very loving and always happy to see you
