Is it foolish to spend $400 on a custom katana since we don’t fight with them anymore?

My apologies. I did move your post to the other topic because girlsaskguys placed it in how do I look. Those expired after 24 hours and can't be accessed anymore nor commented on. I didn't think your post belonged there. As for the question no it isn't stupid to buy something you appreciate. If you don't then yeah it doesn't make sense. I don't get the feeling that you see it that way. If it is a decorative piece and something you like to look at or pick up from time to time then go for it. I'd it is a unnecessary expense or something that you could wisely spend the money elsewhere then don't.
I spent around $45k to bought a car and I don’t even drive 😅😅 but i like it. So if you like it and can afford it, just go for it.
As long as your not spending money you can't afford to spend on things like that then I think it's fine.
I have a custom made one as well but I actually use it for martial arts training.
If it makes you happy and doesn’t cause a financial hardship, it’s not foolish at all.

No, if you have enough money, and you like it, it's not foolish at all.
Thank you 👍🏻!
You're welcome.
Foolish shmoolish, if it’s not your money, don’t worry about it
If you want to buy it then buy it, make yourself happy
If that is what you like and you can afford it, go for it.
That depends on who made it, the metal used, and if it's going to appreciate in value. If you're buying a piece of Chinese sheet metal shaped like a sword, I would advise against it.
Your disposable income!
