Do you ever have a stray cat attempt to follow you home?

I was feeding a stray cat around my neighbourhood and I waited for that cat to finish its meal. It somehow meow again to thank me for the meal. I left it to go home and I realised that cat is following me! So I lured the cat away by using a small stone to throw it in another direction. The cat then followed where the stone was thrown and I managed to get home. Do you ever have this encounter?

Yeah a few times actually, quite a lot of strays around here, 4 of the cats followed after I had fed them, 1 of them I was just petting it. In those cases I took them home and put them up for adoption.

After that point anytime I fed strays, I would leave whilst the cats were still eating. Vet fees, grooming and chipping the cat isn't cheap 🤣🤣🤣🤣. And I'd end up having to take care a cat for months while waiting for someone to adopt. I don't even like cats, so many of them are just assholes.
