Anyone else think the Lincoln Town car is a classic design?

It's a car only people with no brain or soul would like. The Lincoln Town Car was pure badge engineering from Ford. A Ford Crown Victoria with a different front grille and rear taillights. It had solid rear axle right out of the 1970's. It had a hilarious rear overhang. It had recirculating ball steering. It had over boosted power steering. It had an anemic small V8 engine. It had a low rent interior.

But it was cheap to buy and cheap to fix. It became the standard for the livery business running "black cars" to and from major airports. There was an entire industry built around repairing these tarted up taxicabs with black paint. And they could routinely be kept running for half a million miles.

But they were slow as shit. Handled like pigs. And the looks didn't exactly inspire anything but yawns. Testosterone was not a part of the Town Car experience.

It might be a comfy ride, but a '59 Chevy Impala (gull-wing), a "goat (GTO), or even an Edsel is more "classic" in the sense of the word.

I once owned 20% then 10% of an older model Lincoln limousine which was of course an extended Town Car/Continental
