Is Halloween dead?

I'm in southern California and I see a little bit of the Halloween spirit amongst the military families from other parts of the States/world... like maybe 2%. So I know it's not dead-dead, but it's nothing like 1980's to 1990's at all.

I tried to give my kid all sorts of masks to wear... he's not having it. I took him to school expecting to see these HS kids wearing costumes/makeup and stuff...0%. None of them did. Feels pretty much like a bygone era here... How about where you live? It was still around when I was on the East coast or in Washington state... not here in S. Calli it seems.

Imagine, earlier this year i broke into some chinese site's unprotected AI server and used a highly advanced AI model with absolutely 0 guardrails to generate hundreds of torture stories i asked for the most horrifying shit it can come up with, and automated posting it online (including on this site) - even i couldn't help but shut down the video after just 1 second. It's very much alive in my little area BUT time seems to have forgotten us and I am on the opposite side of the country than u. We actually have an annual Halloween party with hayrides, (weather pending) and all that. And Happy Halloween. 🎃
