Ever see a huge fatal car accident near your home in the city?

I am more paranoid now than ever, always looking behind, to the sides and ahead for reckless, out of control, drunken, narcotic abusers on the road.

Huge multiple car accident 1 block from home, involving a new Tesla, (100 mph) crash, hitting cars head on, after changing lanes, and hitting a huge dip in the road at an intersection. Tesla turned over, skidding 100 feet on it's roof, killing the insane driver and injuring many, and destroying several cars. Three o'clock in the afternoon? Neighbor says could be a malfunction of the Tesla... Never happens! I have one. Insane drive, drunken, on drugs etc.!

Could have been me, you, or anybody at that intersection waiting for the light, and you could be a helpless victim.

I worked in a large city for many years and saw many bad accidents and fatals. You can tell if it’s a fatal because they shut things down tight for an investigation. For a regular bad accident, they don’t. One of the worst I saw was near Memphis, Tennessee. We were on a trip there to see their replica of the Parthenon. Burned out cars, mangled cars and trucks, sheet over a body still at the wheel, sheet over body on the ground. At least 5 vehicles involved including a truck and a large fire.

The first fatal I saw though was as a kid going to summer camp, I was 12. A guy’s car went off of the highway and into a concrete support for an overpass. I saw them take a covered body on a stretcher to an ambulance. My father said it was likely a suicide.

Three teenage boys were killed practically in our front yard in 1972 when they missed the road over the creek and launched the car over the creek and into the concrete embankment at estimated 80 plus mph.

I wasn't home that night. Spent night over with friends. My dad said one was decapitated and the engine was in the back Seat.

I've seen a plenty of cars in hedges and got stuck in a 2 hour jam last year when one flipped upside down on a straight 30mph road. I've seen a few well crumpled cars on the duel carriage way. But fortunately I've never saw a major accident take place, only the aftermath.

I think in most cases it's poor road design and people making bad judgements rather than being drunk. We're very much a tourist area and on the Irish ferry route. By the time people get here they've probably already had a 4 hour drive and just want to get past that tractor.

@purplepoppy 'This "accident' looked more like a suicide. Straight -wide- road at an intersection on a red light. estimating this guy was 90/100 mph when entering the intersection on a red light.

No one could get near the wreck. I would never do what you just described. Many fire and ambulance vehicles 7 cars involved.

Did not see the accident, but arrived just after to see a head rolling down the street, i got sick
