Why? What do you connect with your dream car

1966 ford gt. I love the idea of a tiny car with a borderline hilariously oversized v8 in it since before I knew anything about that car.
The story of why and how it was made to me exemplifies everything great about America.
Ford didn't build that car to win an engineering fight. He built the car to win a fight over ideas. To challenge hubris and get people from all over the world to build something special. It's hard to look at it this way today but I bet in 1964 that team felt a little like David vs Goliath going against Porsche and Ferrari the way they did.
The car sounds like vengeance itself the 8L version was the first car in Lemans to hit 200mph which is insaine considering Porsche needed two years and a completely new car to do that. It's a drifting machine too. I simply love everything about it.
Dream car? That's a tough one. There's lots of good looking older cars. But a dream car would have great gas mileage, a blue tooth for the phone, and i have a lot of old CDs, and I'd need a charger port for the phone. So, my car can't be too old. And I don't need all the bells and whistles of a new-new car.
I love my 2006 Honda Civic, but I'd think a 2010 civic would be better if the specs on it are still good.
Classic cars don't ride well and guzzle gas. I admire a Mustang '65 but have heard it only looks good. I want a comfortable ride with a few modern amenities. I would like a standard shift, too, which I have now. Other than those few updates or retros, square lines, the BMW look, is another thing I enjoy seeing.
Most fancy cars are way out of my price range, so there's no need to desire them.
I'm not a Mercedes fan but I would want such one.

My dream vehicle is an RV that i can comfortably live in that is self-sustaining (in terms of living there). solar roof, AC & heating, filtered rainwater collection to keep the water tank full, compost/fertilizer creating septic (you can sell the compost & fertilizer mix, plus the compost generates heat that can be used for heated floors and prewarmed pipes), a nice gaming rig with decent internet, windowsill planter with micro-greens & herbs, hydrolysis hydrogen motor, enough room for a queen sized bed, and a nice shower.
My dream car would be the Tesla Model S. Combining cutting-edge technology with sustainability aligns with my values and forward-thinking mindset. The elegance and performance of this car reflect a commitment to progress and innovation, much like my approach in education and career advice. Driving a Tesla Model S would symbolize the balance of practicality and aspirations, which resonates with my professional and personal life. Owning such a car would represent not just a mode of transport, but a lifestyle choice reflecting dedication to a better future.

A classic sports car with personality and style would be my ideal vehicle—something classic and enjoyable to drive. I adore vehicles that are unique, not just in terms of speed but also in terms of their appearance, sound, and driving experience.
I couldn’t pick one. It would have to between a 1960 Cadillac Eldorado, as a daily driver, the sort of car you can’t get angry in, you’re just cruising. And the other car would have to be a 1980s Ducktail Porsche 911, preferably in cadmium yellow.

An Aptera. Given how I drive (usually just on weekends), this is basically free driving.
I am really not a car guy. i am more a truck or SUV guy. A rebuild of an International Scout would be awesome.

1970 Porsche 911S. Its one of the cars Steve McQueen drove in the movie Le Mans... I have lusted after one ever since I saw that movie.
One that drives me around on it's own and I don't need to do anything. Give me Herbie the Love Bug
A classic Corvette from the late sixties, or early seventies. Raw and stunningly beautiful. The modern ones are faster, but lack the innate beauty of the earlier designs.
Failing that, any open top two seater will do.
I really like this 1 horse power model. It just seems so simple, goes good in mud or snow and it would easily fit in the barn!
You might not like the exhaust fumes
@BonzoInBitburg Lol! U have a point. 🤣
The only ‘car’ listed here so far that can survive societal collapse. Just feed it grass or grain and you’re sweet. Honestly the best choice here.
I'll take the new McLaren https://www.mclarenranchomirage.com/new-Rancho+Mirage-2025-McLaren-750S-Spider-SBM14BCA1SW009077
A track-prepared paddle shifter sports car -- probably a BMW, as I can't afford to run a Porsche.
I'm more of a truck person than a car guru.
just make it Dakar, Rally Racing... and I'll take it
I once owned my dream car. She was a 1973 Chevy Nova, 2 door. Baby yellow, black vinyl top, black interior. I wish I still had that car!!
It's only my dream car until they come up with something better, but here's the Porsche 918 Spyder.

1949 Cadillac fastback

Ideally one I made myself from the ground up. A totally unique design
There are too many at this point... 50+ if I had to guess.
As an old guy with some accessibility issues, I rather like this one.
A nice midsize suv that's black has a radio with a cd player and cloth seats. I'd christen the radio with ultra by KMFDM
One that would go for 5 years without a repair. I. C. E. too- NOT an electric.
This car:
I have my dream car my 1978 Firebird Pontiac formula
Self driving electric cars that aren't made by Elon Musk.
A convertible
Corvette if I can get a buxom blonde to drive it!!!
The Boss 429, Lamborghini Murcielago and Aventador.
I love old pickups from the 1940s.
They're terrible in every way but they look cool.
I'm Canadian.
I grew up in a rural area so pickups were really popular. I've always liked pickups in general and every farmer seemed to have old pickups parked in a field. Buy a new truck and park the old one in a field next to all the other old non working vehicles
I have no idea but every farmer had old unused cars either behind the barn or in the back corner of his field. My grandpa had his behind the barn. An old GM pickup, and 2 cars, a Buick and a Ford.
I wish I could have a tpur to take photos of this old cars... Canada is too far for me. I never had a good location nearby and not much money to travel - and highly frequented spots are boring.

There are still places like those pictures in Canada but not as many as there used to be
'70 SS Chevelle.
An old Corvette or T bird
Probably a Royce Silver Cloud
