What's the worst weather you've seen?

Ok, so, in my area we've got some really weird weather coming up in the next few days:

Friday: Rain. High near 51. South wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
Friday Night: Rain likely before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

See, what prolly's gonna' happen here is the rain and warm temps are going to melt the 8 or so inches of snow we already have and that is gonna cause some flooding. Prolly pretty bad in some areas up here. And then *BOOM* it's gonna drop from 51 F to 17 F pretty fast. And it prolly ain't gonna' be pretty at all.

We're looking at a possible severe weather/ice event. Add in the winds and we're prolly gonna' be out of power too. Oh well, welcome to my neck of the woods. We got a woodstove and kerosene lanterns. We'll be just fine. And it might be a good time to get out my ice skates.

It's relatively warm nights 0C days +10C. Wind is Nord-West-West. However the sky is covered since 2 weeks, visibility is max. 300m. It's dark like at sundown. I need to turn light on to read a book at noon.
Brits would call it summer but I need sunlight.

Other option is continental weather from central Eurasia (Russia). It's dry but very cold -10C-30C. The sun will shine but you will freeze outside at night without shelter. This is traditional weather here for new years eve.

Best weather in winter is Mediterranean circulation with winds from south. It's rare but happens sometimes. It's like Spring in middle of winter. People walk around in T-Shirts and it's dry and warm.
Sometime peach or apricot trees start to bloom too early because it's too warm but then comes cold again and all those flowers freeze and crumble. That's why peaches and apricots in garden are rather a hobby than reliable fruit source.

A storm at sea in the north Atlantic Ocean that I viewed from a 65 ft sailboat. The swells looked like 20 story buildings, and the wind never got below probably 80 MPH. 5 days of this.

I was exhausted and also surprised at the end to stil be alive.

In the past 7 days we had first dropped below -40 degrees, then it rained for two days, and now after the rain turned to ice the current sustained blizzard wind speed is 22mph with gusts of 37mph.

I was in Brisbane Australia several years ago, working on a project with a small company. We were in their small office just south of Brisbane. The wind started to pick up and we looked outside to see nothing but dark green sky... it was 3pm in the afternoon. The building started shaking as our small group huddled inside, as far away from windows as we could get. This lasted for over an hour. When it finally stopped, we went outside to see fallen branches, a few car windows broken, and parts of the building's metal roof missing. It was the most scared I have ever been.

Back in the late `90's, I was on my way to see my girlfriend and I got half way there and was waiting for my connecting bus when we suddenly got hit with a terrible hail storm that started pounding us just as my bus pulled up. The ride was only about 8 to 10 minutes long but, by the time we got about a mile away, the streets were flooded and we had to sit at the curb for a moment for the rain to drain off the street. Most of the ride was slightly downhill so, by the time we got to where the bus was to turn off and head to her place 3 blocks away, the street below hers, which was the lowest in the area, was at least knee deep in water!! Some idiot tried to drive through it and flooded his car!!
Too bad everybody that lives in that area thinks the sewers are garbage cans and had them filled to the street with garbage so none of the water could fall into them, like it's supposed to.

-62 F or -52 C when windchill was included. We left some room temperature beer outside for a bit to get them cold and they froze quickly so we put them into the refrigerator to warm up. Windchill won’t do that but it was sub-zero even without it.

I remembering other days they would call for a high of zero without windchill and the lows were below zero of course but a high of zero on the radio when you wake up is disappointing especially when you need to drive to work. Once, the slush in the street froze around my car tires, that sucked trying to get out for work.

Im in Washington state currently and at least 7 major rivers in 4 counties have been flooding and continue to flood without any snow. Areas had historically record rains and then 2 days later beat the record by 2 inches. Rivers have risen 8 to 15 feet. Blacktop on the roads are sinking from saturation. Cities are being evacuated from excessive flooding. A guy died because he drove a pickup through a warning sign to turn around and he went through 6 feet of water on the road, got trapped and drowned.

I was too young at the time to accurately recall year precisely now, but i think it was the blizzard of 1978. My family was in the upper peninsula of Michigan visiting my dad’s family. We woke up to snow covering the windows of the first floor. The men had to climb out of a second story window and drop themselves into eight or ten feet of snow in order to shovel the snow away from the doors so we could get out. We were trapped in the UP for longer than we planned and my sister and i missed skool. The superintendent at the time was notorious for not closing skool for inclement weather. There was a gnarly ice storm in 1984 that i remember because i stayed home from skool. When i went outside, everything looked like it was encased in glass. The ice was a minimum of 1/4” thick on everything. Some places it was inches thick. As a child, it’s glorious and fascinating. In hindsight, it’s probably quite stressful on adults.

1. Worst is hurricane, in florida every year. 2. But notice the INGREDIENTS in your post! 'weird weather coming up' not observed just predicted. Used predictions to fool people WEIRD weather but... RAIN is common! not weird.

Unless you mean warm for winter but you ALSO mention "possible severe weather/ice event" ICE in winter so not really warm nor change, just to make a fake SENSATION about COMMON rain and ice. Conclusion: the name sapien in "homo sapien" means smart but homo sapiens are easily fooled, not really sapien.

Snows pretty unusual here. We occasionally get a light dusting but if we get a cm its headline news.

Past few days it's been winds around 20 with gusts up to 50mph. The rain only stops a few hours then it pours down, well more horizontally. Some people call it winter i call it rainbow season because there's one nearly every day

I've been in hurricanes, close enough to see tornados in action, flooding from rains, microburst winds knocking down hundreds of trees, a lightning storm hitting a mountain ridgeline I happened to be hunkered down on, blizzards, temps of 110F to -44F. Weather is amazing.

A freak snowstorm with -47C and 80km gusts coming off the lake while camping in a hot-tent.

It blew my stove pipe over, kinking it and burning a hole in the side of the tent at 3am. There was nothing to do but wait it out and leave the next day.

Weather reports didn't mention a thing about it. It was so supposed to be a balmy -30C and sunny that weekend. Even my garmin inreach weather report which gives me localized forecasts for my location was completely caught of guard.

Anyways, make sure to stay inside the house, if it grt very cold, than stay curled up in blankets in your bed so you lezzie body remains warm haha, make sure to have enough food and water at home and stay safe!

Don't get crazy about getting out, cause the weather have no mercy and it's dangerous, so have fun inside your place ☺️

46C all afternoon (115F) in a little flat with no air-conditioning. Then the clouds rolled in. The overnight low was 36C (97F). Uggh.

We were hosting a dinner party. We served beetroot borscht straight from the fridge. It still wasn't nearly cold enough.

I remember the Blizzard of 78. We got 3 feet of snow and school was closed for almost the whole month of February. Cars were not allowed on the road and on the coast there were houses that were washed right off their foundations.

UK here. We don't get much in the way of strong winds but we do get heavy rain. Like enough to make roads impassable. And it's too bad if you live close to a river because you might get flooded out.
